The first spring weekend is here with Easter Egg hunts beginning early in SF. Across the Bay, Oakland and Berkeley are both hosting their annual restaurant weeks with a combined 230 participants. Try a new cuisine at a new restaurant in a new neighborhood in either city. Don't forget college basketball is heating up with March Madness. Check out a game or two on the Thrive City Plaza board. Discover the culinary magic of neighborhood diners, food trucks and Michelin-rated restaurants during Oakland Restaurant Week. During this 10-day feast, restaurants will offer curated lunch and dinner menus showcasing the dynamic culture and cuisine of The Town. The unique multicultural fabric of Oakland leads way to an equally colorful culinary scene, full of unexpected pairings and fusion-style flavors. Over 75 restaurants are participating in the 12th annual Berkeley Restaurant Week. In honor of the excitement around the annual NCAA college basketball tournament, restaurants are offering tiered pricing options like the “Lay Up” from $10-$20 per dish, the “Jump Shot” from $20-$30, the “Three Pointer” from $30-$40 and for those celebrating a special occasion, the “Full Court Press,” starting at $40.  Plus, this year’s theme, "March Mushroom Madness," is a fun one and promises many tasty mushroom and plant-based dishes. The African-American Shakespeare Company proudly presents "PIPELINE," an enthralling theatrical masterpiece that delves deeply into the complex web of sacrifices and choices driven by love and parental devotion. Shakespearean classics make for the most romantic and exciting weekend dates. William Hodgson’s take on William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" will unearth passion, danger and sheer joy. Watch the best of the best in college basketball on the Thrive City Plaza board. Bring friends and family to cheer on your favorite team. Lawn chairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Take BART to Powell St and walk or hop on the Muni T to the Chase Center

Easter Egg Hunt at Yerba Buena Gardens

10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. | 745 Mission St.

Head to the great lawn at Yerba Buena Gardens for a fun family activity this Easter season. Expect live music, egg hunts, photos with the Easter Bunny, games, prizes and more. Pre-registered families can check in at the registration booth near MLK Fountain to pick up free Easter goodies. Take BART to Montgomery St for an epic egg hunt 0.3 miles away. 

4th Annual STEM Frenzy Festival

This free STEM event at the Chase Center is an adventure for all ages. Through interactive workshops and hands-on learning experiences, activities not only teach but ignite curiosity. The next generation of STEM professionals is sure to feel inspired. Take BART to Powell St and walk or hop on the Muni T to the Chase Center.

Metcon Fitness Class
Mar. 23 | Embarcadero
10 a.m. – 11 a.m. | 425 Mission St.

Check out this free total-body workout in the beautiful main plaza at Salesforce Park. This metabolic conditioning class includes rounds of cardiovascular fitness and muscular strength, and while it’s definitely challenging, you’ll leave fitter, happier and sweatier than when you arrived. Join the class atop the transit center building. Get stronger at Salesforce Park, 0.4 miles from Embarcadero.

"Dye Hard" Easter Egg Hunt & Festival

Head to Kapwa Gardens to celebrate a family-friendly Easter egg hunt in an urban garden oasis. Expect an Easter egg hunt, a petting zoo (including bunnies) and plenty of photo opportunities. Tie-dye and psychedelic patterns are highly encouraged. The egg hunt starts 0.3 miles from Powell St.

SF Neon Chinatown Walking Tour

Some of the oldest neon signs in San Francisco live in Chinatown, many hiding in plain sight. The SF Neon Chinatown Walking Tour is a treasure hunt of exploration to find these historical gems. While covering approximately two miles on foot, expect to also learn about local history, architecture and graphic design. Take BART to Montgomery St for a unique walking tour 0.6 miles away.

Candlelight: The Best of Metallica and Schubert

Enjoy the music of Metallica and Schubert by candlelight at the International Art Museum of America. This unique concert offers a multi-sensory experience like you’ve never experienced. The Listeso String Quartet performs the 65-minute show that alternates between Metallica and Franz Schubert. Take BART to Civic Center/UN Plaza for the candlelit show 0.1 miles away.
