Carnaval San Francisco

Carnaval San Francisco celebrates the diverse Latin American, Caribbean and African Diasporic roots of the Mission District in the San Francisco Bay Area. This year's Carnaval SF theme is Honor Indigenous Roots, paying special homage to the original peoples of the Bay Area, the Americas and West Africa. The free two–day festival covers 17 blocks in the Mission District, with five main stages, 50 local performing artists, 400 vendors with the Grand Parade traveling down Mission Street on Sunday beginning at 9:30 a.m. The festival includes international food, dancing and entertainment for families and friends of all ethnic, social and economic backgrounds. Enjoy this last weekend of musical comedy heaven featuring one of the most iconic scores of all time at the Orpheum Theatre.
