The Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life was established in 2010 at the University of California at Berkeley. It showcases "art, objects, texts, musics and historical documents about the Jews in the Global Diaspora and the American West." The city of Richmond's Public Library is located in their Civic Center Plaza. The Richmond Public Library officially opened its doors in 1929 and has housed and provided numerous collections and services to the public.
