From Pride and sporting events to comedy and live music, there is plenty to do in the Bay Area this weekend. Sundays at the Asian Art Museum
July 5 | Civic Center/UN Plaza
10 a.m.-4 p.m. | 200 Larkin St. 

This Sunday, the Asian Art Museum features free programming for the entire family. Start the day with the Mulan Sing-Along and Costume Contest, where you can belt out tunes from Disney’s Mulan. Want to learn Mahjong? You’ll have the opportunity to take a lesson and play throughout the day. The Sunday schedule also features drop-in art activities and instruction on making your own flip book. There are a number of tours available as well. The Museum is just 0.2 miles from the Civic Center/UN Plaza BART

Alameda County Fair
Through July 12 | Dublin/Pleasanton
Noon-11 p.m. | 4501 Pleasanton Ave.

The Alameda County Fair is in full swing with carnival rides, action sports, a concert series, movies and much more. On Fourth of July, don't miss the Fair's Fireworks Extravaganza lighting up the night sky following the evening's festivities (please note admission gates close on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.). You'll also find unique experiences ranging from interactive agricultural education at a working exhibition farm to an amateur wine competition. Take BART to Dublin/Pleasanton, and then catch the Wheels Route 10 bus to find the fun!

Where’s Waldo Local - Rockridge

Enjoy some hide-and-seek fun while you get to know local merchants. Can you find Waldo? He’ll be hiding in 26 different Rockridge businesses during the entire month of July. Families will love joining the scavenger hunt to find the iconic children’s book character. Pick up a game card at any participating business or at Pegasus Books and begin your search. Find 20+ Waldos for a chance to win one of 20 prizes and Rockridge gift cards. Pegasus Books is located just 0.2 miles from Rockridge BART.

Fremont 4th of July Parade

Fremont’s 4th of July parade is back this year to mark the country’s 250th anniversary. The parade honors our shared heritage while highlighting the diversity and civic pride of Fremont. Support local talent and celebrate with the community at this festive event. To attend, take BART to Fremont Station, which is approximately 0.7 miles from the parade. 

American Valor 250

11 a.m.-3 p.m. | 401 Van Ness Ave.

Celebrate the 4th of July at this family-friendly event in San Francisco featuring live music, food trucks and carnival games. Check out the veteran art show or go on a history walk. Held at the War Memorial Courtyard, this is an opportunity to honor history and service, while having fun with family and friends of all ages. The Civic Center/UN Plaza is about 0.25 miles from the event. 

City of El Cerrito & worldOne July 4th Festival
July 4 | El Cerrito Plaza

Celebrate Independence Day at the City of El Cerrito & worldOne July 4th Festival, a longtime community tradition at Cerrito Vista Park. The free festival features live music, community groups, a classic car showcase and family-friendly attractions, along with food and beverage booths, rides, bounce houses and vendor booths. It's a fun way to spend the holiday, with activities for all ages. The festival is about a 0.9-mile walk from El Cerrito Plaza via the Ohlone Greenway.

4th of July Fireworks at Pier 39 
July 4 | Embarcadero
9:30 p.m. | Pier 39

San Francisco is going big for the 4th of July this year. In addition to the fireworks at Pier 39, this year’s celebration will include fireworks launched from the Golden Gate Bridge for only the 3rd time ever. If you’re heading to the Pier 39 celebration, go early to enjoy the restaurants, shops and fun for the whole family. Take BART to Embarcadero, which is about 1.5 miles (a 30-minute walk or 10-minute transit ride) or hop on the Muni Pier 39 Firework Shuttle to Pier 39.

California Classic Fan Fest
July 5 | Powell St.
11 a.m. | 99 Warriors Way

The California Classic Fan Fest at Thrive City is a public outdoor event featuring live entertainment, carnival games, face painting, balloon artists and photo ops. The event is held in conjunction with the NBA’s California Classic Summer League at Chase Center. While the basketball game requires a purchased ticket, the Fan Fest is free to attend. Take BART to Powell St. and transfer to the Muni T Third Line to the UCSF/Chase Center (16th St.) platform.

Patrick Keane at Punch Line Comedy Club

Head to the Punch Line Comedy Club this Friday for a night of laughs. This show features Patrick Keane, a stand-up comedian and writer who has appeared on The Late Late Show, Live at Gotham, Jimmy Kimmel Live and more. The Punch Line comedy club has been hosting notable comedians for decades. This is a chance to catch a great comedy show in person. The Embarcadero Station is 0.4 miles away. 

4th of July BBQ at the Pardee Home Museum
July 4 | 12th St. Oakland City Center
Noon-3:30 p.m. | 672 11th St. 

Celebrate the semi-quincentennial at the Pardee Home Museum this weekend. Featuring music by Frederick Hodges, admission includes BBQ and live music. Vintage clothing is encouraged for the occasion. The 12th St. Oakland City Center BART is 0.4 miles from the Pardee Home Museum. 

Red, White, and Blues: American Guitar Tribute by Jeffrey James
July 4 | Powell St. 
5:30 p.m. | 401 Mason St. 

Kick off your 4th of July evening with a celebration of American guitar legends at Biscuits and Blues. The Jeffrey James Trio honors Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Muddy Waters and more in this high-energy live show. From blues grooves to rock anthems, this special event celebrates the sounds that have been central to American music. Powell St. BART is just 0.2 miles away. 

Yoshi’s Blues Explosion
July 5 | 12th St. Oakland City Center
7 p.m. | 510 Embarcadero West

If you’re a Blues fan, head to Yoshi’s in Oakland this Sunday for a “Blues Explosion,” featuring four standout artists: The Dynamic Miss Faye Carol, Fillmore Slim, Lady Biance and Alvon Johnson. Celebrate Oakland’s rich blues history with some of its finest artists from the Bay Area and beyond. Located in Jack London Square, Yoshi’s provides the perfect venue for this musical experience. Take BART to 12th St. Oakland City Center, which is about 0.6 miles away from the event. 

Ozomatli at the Alameda County Fair
July 5 | Dublin/Pleasanton
8 p.m. | 4501 Pleasanton Ave.

The Concert Series of the Alameda County Fair features the rock band Ozomatli on Sunday. Ozomatli incorporates a wide array of musical styles, including jazz, funk and others. The band has released seven studio albums since its founding in 1995. Take BART to Dublin/Pleasanton, and then catch the Wheels Route 10 bus.
