Pride weekend is here, and there’s no better place to celebrate than the Bay Area. Kick off Pride celebrations on Friday night with a lighting of the beautiful 4-mile-long rainbow laser flag on Market St. Continue the party all weekend long with everything from parades and parties to concerts and cultural performances. There's also men's soccer, women's basketball, art exhibits and even a tribute to David Bowie at Davies Symphony Hall. Enjoy a beautiful weekend in the Bay, and don't forget your Clipper card!

Rock the Plaza Concert Series at Lafayette Plaza
June 27 | Lafayette Station
6–8 p.m. | 3530 Plaza Way

Lamorinda Idol Finalists will rock the Lafayette Plaza this Friday from 6-8 p.m. The singing contest for kiddos in kindergarten through 12th grade is just two blocks from Lafayette Station! Bring a picnic or order ahead and pick up takeout from a nearby restaurant. Don't forget a blanket and/or lawn chair. 

San Francisco Pride Parade and Festival
June 28 & 29 | Embarcadero, Civic Center
10 a.m. (parade) | Market St. at Embarcadero Plaza / 11 a.m.–6 p.m. (festival) | 335 McAllister St.

The two-day free celebration is one of the largest LGBTQ gatherings in the country. The theme this year (it's 55th!) is “Queer Joy is Resistance.” The Pride Parade starts Sunday at 10:30 a.m. on Market Street at Embarcadero Plaza (0.2 miles from Embarcadero) and ventures to 9th St. Look for the BARTmobile and BART staff in the parade! Then, the Celebration at Civic Center Plaza (0.2 miles from Civic Center/UN Plaza) features a main stage with a full lineup of live music, an 18+ zone and a street fair showcasing over 300 vendors.

Oakland Roots v. Monterey Bay FC
June 28 | Coliseum
7 p.m. | 7000 Coliseum Way

Cheer on the home team this weekend at the Coliseum. The Oakland Roots will face Monterey Bay FC this Saturday, also African Roots Night. Pay tribute to our roots and heritage, and the celebration with African music and festivities, 0.2 miles from the Coliseum.

"Co-Founders" at Strand Theater

“Co-Founders” is a world-premiere hip-hop musical running at the American Conservatory Theater's Strand Theater in San Francisco. The story follows Esata, a young Oakland coder who teams up with an unlikely partner to navigate Silicon Valley’s competitive startup scene. Catch the show just steps from Civic Center/UN Plaza.

Union Square’s “Salsa in the Square” Night Party

DJ JuanLove and Pablo Dinámico bring high-energy Cuban beats to Union Square on the fourth Friday of each month until September. Learn a few steps at a lively dance class featuring Rumba, Timba and Reparto, followed by electrifying music and Ruedas to keep you on your feet. Whether you’re an experienced dancer or looking to pick up a few new moves, don’t miss this outdoor event series 0.3 miles from Powell St.

San Francisco’s Annual Trans March and Festival
June 27 | 16th St Mission
11 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. | Dolores St. and 19th St.

The San Francisco Trans March is one of the largest transgender Pride events in the world. Always held on the Friday of Pride weekend, thousands of people attend the event at Dolores Park to celebrate Trans joy. Join them 0.7 miles from 16th St Mission.

“Drag Me to Front St” Pride Block Party
June 27 | Embarcadero
4:30–8 p.m. | 240 Front St.

Celebrate Pride Month with “Drag Me Downtown,” a lively pop-up drag show hosted by Bobby Friday and special guest co-host Peaches Christ. Get ready for glamorous performances, fabulous fashion and specialty cocktails, all just 0.2 miles from Embarcadero.

Friday Nights at OMCA: Pride Night w/ King Isis & Vogue Dance Lessons
June 27 | Lake Merritt
5–9 p.m. | 1000 Oak St.

Celebrate Pride Month at the weekly Friday Nights at OMCA with a fun evening of music, dance and community. Enjoy a live performance by King Isis, join a high-energy Vogue dance lesson with Sir JoQ and celebrate joy with beats by DJ Ignacia — all just steps from Lake Merritt Station.

Yerba Buena Gardens Festival
June 27 & 28 | Montgomery St

Eddie Madril — dancer, singer, and member of the Pascua Yaqui tribe — is heading to the Yerba Buena Gardens on Friday for two performances showcasing the dances and culture of Plains Indian tribes. On Saturday, enjoy “Pride in Yerba Buena!”, an all-ages variety show mixing drag and circus arts with fun music. Catch the shows 0.3 miles from Montgomery St.

BLACKSTAR Symphony: The Music of David Bowie

Witness David Bowie’s "Blackstar" like never before with BLACKSTAR Symphony, a tribute featuring the original band and a 65-piece orchestra. The evening concludes with a celebration of Bowie’s legendary hits, including “Heroes” and “Life on Mars.” As a bonus, you can sip glittery Stardust cocktails and devour lightning cookies just 0.3 miles from Civic Center/UN Plaza.

Golden State Valkyries at the Chase Center

The Golden State Valkyries play two home games this weekend. On Friday, they face the Chicago Sky. On Sunday, they’ll take on the Seattle Storm. Don't miss the team in action! Take BART to Powell St or 16th St Mission and walk or hop on Muni to the Chase Center to cheer on the home team.

Eames Exhibition “Past as Prologue”

“Past as Prologue: The Last Decade of Furniture Design by Ray and Charles Eames” is now open in the newly revitalized Transamerica Pyramid Center. Presented by The Eames Institute of Infinite Curiosity in partnership with developer SHVO, this marks the Institute’s first-ever public installation outside its archives and brings the story of American design’s most iconic duo into the heart of one of the country’s most recognizable skyscrapers. Check it out, 0.4 miles from Montgomery St.

Frameline Film Festival

Changing the world one movie at a time, Frameline (the San Francisco International LGBTQ Film Festival) is the place to be for queer cinema. Catch flicks from established filmmakers and up-and-coming talent that reflect queer stories from around the world. Check here for the full festival schedule. SF Opera’s “Bohème Out of the Box”
June 28 | Hayward

Experience “Bohème Out of the Box” at Heritage Plaza in Hayward. The performance, presented by San Francisco Opera in partnership with the Hayward Public Library, is a free abridged version of Giacomo Puccini’s La Bohème. Families can also enjoy a pre-show featuring music, movement, and storytelling, located 0.4 miles from Hayward Station.
