Earth Day at Yerba Buena Gardens | Montgomery St
The San Francisco Green Business Program is hosting the Green Business Expo in partnership with the Yerba Buena Gardens Conservancy on April 19. The all-day-long celebration (10 a.m.–3 p.m.) is sure to entertain the whole family. Discover sustainable products and environmentally friendly services. Enjoy live music, get creative with crafts and chalk art and join educational activities, like a tree planting demo on the living roof. Climate Action Youth Summit | Montgomery St
Join the San Francisco Environment (SFE) Department for youth-led climate action in San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Gardens on Friday, April 18. Here, you can witness young leaders tackling climate change to make a real difference in the Bay Area. You’ll see youth presentations, hear inspiring stories, and feel the passion and creativity of young leaders. This year’s theme is “Climate Action Across Careers.” Whatever future careers Bay Area youth may aspire to, this event will encourage them to explore it with the environment in mind. This exciting and educational event is 0.3 miles from Montgomery St.

On Friday, April 18, the museum’s Friday Nights at OMCA event has an Earth Day theme. Titled “Earth Day in the Bay,” the 5–9 p.m. event is free, family-friendly and full of fun. In partnership with the Oakland Unified School District, guests can expect performances by the visionary DJ Teao Sense, and hands-on activities, like the Sketchboard Co. live figure drawing, where all skill levels are invited to sketch a live costumed model representing the diversity of the Bay Area. Earth Day at Jack London Square | 12th St/Oakland City Center
Head to Jack London Square on April 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to celebrate Earth Day in Oakland. Arrive early to get a free Jack London Square tote bag at the redemption table in the plaza near Plank. They’re available while supplies last! Also, don’t miss snapping photos with friends and family at the Earth Day-themed backdrop. Take BART to join the festivities 0.6 miles from 12th St/Oakland City Center.

Oakland’s 31st Annual Earth Day invites the community to celebrate our planet on April 19 with a day filled with environmental action to positively impact generations to come. There are so many ways to contribute from planting trees to picking up litter, you can make a difference this Earth Day. Celebrate Earth Day in Walnut Creek at Civic Park on April 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Learn sustainable practices through interactive workshops, connect with nature at the all-skills level yoga class and peruse over 30 booths hosted by local organizations and advocates for eco-friendly products. One highlight of Earth Day in Walnut Creek is the educational entertainment from Earth Capades. The group mixes theatrics and circus with music and technology to bring joy and inspire audiences to connect with the earth. El Cerrito Earth Day Celebration | El Cerrito Plaza
The El Cerrito Earth Day Celebration gives you ample opportunities to make a difference. Join volunteers for an Earth Day work party on April 19 from 9 a.m. to noon. Tidy parks and public spaces, pick up litter so it doesn’t end up in our creeks and waterways, pick weeds, and more. You can organize your own cleanup event with friends and family and let the city know via the Work Party Registration Form or by emailing [email protected] (include the site location, number of volunteers and type of work that will be performed). You can also join an existing cleanup party. One in particular, the El Cerrito Green Team: Northern Gateways Cleanup, is meeting by the El Cerrito del Norte BART Station (Key Ave. and Knott Blvd.) from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. to pick up litter.
