Old Oakland Farmers’ Market | 12th St/Oakland City Center

Rain or shine, Old Oakland Farmers’ Market attracts people to downtown Oakland’s historic district every Friday from 8am-2pm. It’s been a staple for over 25 years, sticking to its longtime mission to be one of the “most culturally diverse, affordable, and accessible” markets. Take BART to 12th St/Oakland City Center and go 0.1 miles to 9th Street at Broadway.

Castro Valley Farmers’ Market | Castro Valley

Conveniently located directly in the Castro Valley BART station parking lot—making for an especially easy walk from BART—the Castro Valley Farmers’ Market runs every Saturday from 9am-1pm. Head home with organic veggies, ranch eggs, flowers and handmade crafts. Take BART to Castro Valley and go 0.2 miles to 21013 Redwood Road.

Ferry Plaza Farmers’ Market | Embarcadero

Set against gorgeous views of the San Francisco Ferry Building and the Bay Bridge, San Francisco’s Ferry Plaza Farmers' Market has become a famous tourist attraction in addition to a local’s shopping destination. Catch it three days a week—on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Take BART to Embarcadero and go 0.2 miles to 1 Ferry Building.

Downtown Hayward Farmers’ Market | Hayward

Situated next to Hayward City Hall Plaza every Saturday from 9am-1pm. The Downtown Hayward Farmer’s Market hosts a variety of arts, crafts and even plant sales along with popular and standard farm harvests. Want some local seafood for your next big meal? You can stock up on fresh catch here too. Take BART to Hayward and go 0.2 miles to 777 B Street.

Mission Community Market | 24 St Mission

Presented by Foodwise, Mission Community Market takes place Thursdays at 3pm-7pm from March through November. Farmers and community programming find a home at this neighborhood market that has nourished the Mission community since 2010. Don’t forget the famous vegan “No Cookie” from the Delightful Foods stand. Take BART to 24th St Mission and go 0.3 miles to Bartlett and 22nd Streets.

Orinda Farmers’ Market | Orinda

Nestled along the edge of Orinda Community Park, the Orinda Farmers’ Market takes place on Saturday from 9am-1pm on Orinda Way in lovely Orinda Village. Other gems to discover in addition to the seasonal produce include homemade jams, hot crepes and cool microgreens. Take BART to Orinda and go 0.5 miles to 28 Orinda Way.

Temescal Farmers’ Market | Rockridge

With a slew of certified organic vendors, hot foods or packaged foods to take away and enjoy later, Temescal Farmers' Market is held in the North Oakland DMV parking lot on Sundays from 9am-1pm. Here, you can get your share of long-stemmed strawberries from Lucero Farms, morning cinnamon rolls from Starter Bakery or fresh uncut flowers to create your own bouquet. Take BART to Rockridge and go 0.7 miles to 5300 Claremont Avenue.

Concord Farmers' Market | Concord

Held in Todos Santos Plaza on Tuesdays from 10am-2pm year-round, and also Thursdays from 4pm-8pm between June 1-September 28, the Concord Farmers’ Market is put on by the Pacific Coast Farmers’ Market Association and the City of Concord. Enjoy the classic arrangements of veggies and greens, plus hot foods for various tastebuds, all in the city’s lush park center. Take BART to Concord and go 0.3 miles to 2175 Willow Pass Road.

Downtown Berkeley Farmers’ Market | Downtown Berkeley

Dedicated to supporting “small-scale farmers who practice sustainable agriculture”, Downtown Berkeley Farmers’ Market is operated by Ecology Center on Saturdays from 10am-3pm. Grab your week’s produce and a wide selection of baked goods, nuts, oils, meats and more. Enjoy performances on select days as well. Take BART to Downtown Berkeley and go 0.2 miles to Center Street at MLK Jr. Way.

Walnut Creek Farmers’ Market | Walnut Creek

Vegetarians and meat lovers can all find their fix at the Walnut Creek Farmers' Market, held 9am-1pm every Sunday, rain or shine. Locals head to this downtown market weekly to enjoy casual strolls through organic goods with live music serenades. Take BART to Walnut Creek and go 0.4 miles to Locust Street between Cole and Lacassie Streets.
