So we thought we’d put together a list of BARTable steakhouses that not only serve some of those indulgent dishes but also deliver a whole lot of holiday cheer. Use one of these tempting restaurants as a way to take hosting a holiday meal off your plate. Or, treat yourself to a night off from cooking. Jackson Square’s Japanese sushi and robata restaurant is part dining and part entertainment, with chefs visible from different perspectives throughout the restaurant. Look for stellar sushi and cuts of beef including certified Tajima Wagu. The restaurant’s beverage program includes barrel-select bourbon and rare Japanese whiskeys.

Legendary restaurateur Pat Kuleto launched EPIC in 2008. Today, the restaurant remains one of the most special places to dine on the Embarcadero. Billed as an Argentinean steakhouse with a California sensibility, the Mission’s Lolinda is a great place to celebrate. The dining room is large, with different types of seating that provide both privacy and an opportunity to watch the comings and goings of this popular place. Cuts of beef are cooked on a traditional Argentinian asador. Desserts like churros with dulce de leche dipping sauce do a great job of capping off an indulgent meal.

This no-frills steakhouse, which provides solid steaks and accompaniments for under $20, is the ideal place for a mid-week break from holiday shopping. T-bone and New York steaks are mainstays, but the restaurant also offers kabobs and other grilled items. It’s a neighborhood spot, and even if you’re not a resident, they’ll treat you like one.

When Joe’s of Westlake was sold to the Duggan family almost 10 years ago, fans of this iconic steakhouse held their breath in hopes that it would remain close to the original. Well, not only did the Duggan family keep the interior intact, but they also kept the same retro vibe and popular dishes. There’s still a wait to snag a booth and the plates still overflow with grilled meats and Italian sides like ravioli.

Anyone lucky enough to live in Millbrae knows about this classic downtown steakhouse and music venue. It’s the type of place where neighbors run into each other, whether you’ve lived in Millbrae for five or 50 years. Makes sense since the original Sixteen Mile House was built a block away in 1872. These mile houses, or roadhouses, served as pitstops for stagecoaches that operated between San Francisco and San Jose. Classic cuts like prime rib and fillet are always available and delicious.

Dining at a Brazilian churrascaria is an adventure, and Concord’s Brasas Do Brazil makes a point to ensure that diners leave full and entertained. This all-you-can-eat dining experience includes skewers of whole grilled New York loin, kebabs, and leg of lamb, among other grilled items like pork ribs, sausage and pineapple. Try to leave room for fresh house-made salads and vegetables, but we won’t blame you if you don’t.
