If you're a teacher planning a classroom outing, BART is an inexpensive way to take your group on a field trip. Take advantage of BART's student group sales to maximize your discount. Who’s eligible?Enrolled students of elementary, middle and high schools located in Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco and San Mateo counties on a school-sponsored field trip for educational purposes are eligible. Students must be chaperoned by adults at a ratio of at least 1 adult per 15 students, and all must enter, travel and exit stations as a group — no exceptions.What’s the price?Tickets will be issued in amount of fare required. See www.bart.gov and select the Quick Planner to find fare for identified travel. Students’ tickets will be priced at 37.5% of the posted fare, while adult chaperones pay full price.To order:Send a letter on your school letterhead with the following information:Date and approximate time of tripPurpose of tripName of BART stations of entry and exit for each leg of tripNumber of studentsInclude school check (credit card payment may be arranged via mutual agreement). Payment may include full fare for chaperones (in which case identify number of chaperones), or chaperones may purchase their tickets directly at the stationFull street address for delivery (no PO Box).
