Football is back, and the first 49ers game is right around the corner. The 2025 season starts on Sept. 7 as San Francisco takes on the Seattle Seahawks. Wondering where to watch the action? Bay Area bars and restaurants will be packed with fellow fans. Whether you’re looking for a cold pint or an NA cocktail, a dive bar or a massive sports hub — you can sip, snack and celebrate every touchdown near BART. The Napper Tandy | 24th St Mission
This Irish sports bar in the Mission neighborhood is one of the best places in the city to watch a 49ers game. This FiDi hangout is the perfect spot to catch a 49ers game after work. Sports memorabilia — football banners, newspaper clippings and a framed photo of Joe Montana — adorn every inch of the walls. In the Castro, Hi Tops is a popular gay sports bar to catch big games. It's lively and social with plenty of TVs, a strong selection of local beers and cocktails and tasty comfort food like burgers, wings, and nachos. Arrive early in your red and gold — it’s likely to be crowded. This spot is just as much fun for casual fans as it is for loyal followers. Catch the next 49ers game at Hi Tops, 0.8 miles from 16th St Mission.

Golden Gate Tap Room | Powell St
With over 100 beers and more than 20 TVs showing 49ers games, the Golden Gate Tap Room in Union Square is a sports lover's paradise. At halftime, check out their many activities like shuffleboard, foosball and arcade adventures. Established in 1926, this San Francisco dive bar recently had a makeover after burst water pipes damaged the historic watering hole. When the 49ers are playing, head here to watch the game. The Glen Park Station is a no-frills bar that's packed with locals who love the 49ers — and have likely been cheering them on here for years.
