Diablo Ballet presents: "The Nutcracker Suite" | Virtual

Diablo Ballet presents the opening program of its 2020-2021 season with the family-friendly "The Nutcracker Suite," this November. The performance was filmed in a transformed studio in early November and will be streamed virtually to the comfort of your home on opening night this Friday. The show will be available for viewing from Nov. 13 at 7:30pm through Nov. 15 at 10pm. Tickets are $35 and can be bought here.

Berryessa Night Market: Outdoor Dining + To-Go | Berryessa/North San José

Support local small businesses while feeding your appetite for all the street food you have been craving from Berryessa Night Market. Every Friday evening, there'll be a rotating variety of food truck cuisines. You can pre-order your meals online or onsite, pick up your order between 5-9pm, and enjoy your meal in the comfort of home or spend a few minutes in the outdoor seating area at the Garden at the Flea. Limited tables and seats are available on a first come, first served basis. Masks are required at all times, except while consuming your meal. Take BART to Berryessa/North San José Station and walk over to the Garden.

Marin Theatre Company's "American Dreams" | Virtual

"American Dreams" invites you to participate in the newest game show sensation - where you, the audience, decide who wins the ultimate prize: citizenship to “the greatest nation on earth.” Redefining online theater, this is a participatory performance which changes every night. The show transforms abstract political debates into personal, tangible questions: What shifts when we aren’t talking about distant borders but potential neighbors? What kinds and levels of bias do we bring to the conversation? Who would you take a chance on? How far would you go to advocate for your choice? Do you trust the system? If not, why and how do you continue to participate in it? Tickets are $30 and shows take place all weekend, starting at 7pm on Friday.

DNA Lounge's "Turbo Drive" | Civic Center/UN Plaza and Virtual

If you're a fan of the music from "Stranger Things," "Kung Fury," "Drive," "Turbo Kid," or neo-80s nostalgia, then you'll love DNA Lounge's "Turbo Drive," the biggest and longest running synthwave party in the world. To keep you sane during the lockdown, DNA Lounge is doing webcast-only DJ sets. Fire up the lasers and fog machine and dance along from the safety of your own home. The fun runs from 8pm-midnight. Take BART to Civic Center/UN Plaza and walk 12 minutes to the DNA Lounge.

"HellaSecret" Outdoor Comedy Show & Cocktail Night | Secret location in SF

Get ready for San Francisco's very first fully-dedicated outdoor comedy club that will take place at a secret and unique location around the City. This "HellaSecret" Comedy Show and Cocktail Night will take place at a new double-parklet with built-in socially-distanced seating. Enjoy a 70+ minute comedy show with comics with credits like Cobbs, Punchline, SF Sketchfest, NBC, and Outside Lands. Tickets are available online for the 7pm or 9pm shows and start at $20. The location will be emailed out the morning of the show. 21+ only.

Open-Air Marketplace of Local Makers at Walnut Creek | Walnut Creek

Experience an outdoor marketplace of the best local makers and great vibes in Walnut Creek! Soak up the sun in the beautiful Broadway Plaza and shop small from your local community. From 11am-5pm on Saturday, there will be offerings from the best local makers of jewelry, wine barrel products, organic body products, home goods, apparel, glass, and floral arrangements. Before heading out, don't forget your mask and make sure to practice social distancing while at the marketplace. Take BART to Walnut Creek and walk 20 minutes to the plaza.

California Symphony | It's a Cello-bration | Virtual

Cello-brate good times with this free virtual Second Saturdays video concert. Join 30 minutes ahead of the concert to hear Maestro Cabrera in conversation with the featured artists. See “Rock Star Cellist” and composer, former TED fellow and returning favorite guest artist Joshua Roman plus California Symphony Strings Quartet and solo pieces including Bach and Caroline Shaw. The string quartet shares a lesser known gem by 19th century English composer of color Coleridge-Taylor, and Jennifer Higdon’s Amazing Grace. The event begins at 6:30pm.

San Francisco Chinatown Walkway Weekends | Montgomery St

SF’s Chinatown’s iconic Grant Avenue will be closed off to traffic and cars for a pleasant walkway every weekend (11am-5pm) through Dec. 27. Enjoy a historic street stroll, outdoor dining, and a cultural shopping experience. Take BART to Montgomery St and walk four minutes to the Grant Avenue Chinatown entrance.

Throughline: SF Symphony - From Hall to Home | Virtual

This year the San Francisco Symphony welcomes new music director Esa-Pekka Salonen and eight collaborative partners with a digital concert event that charts a new direction for the orchestra. Tune in on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 7pm for a free concert event that reflects the vibrant creativity of their community on a global scale. It's the world premiere of collaborative partner, Nico Muhly’s "Throughline," a work The New York Times calls “a bellwether in the emerging genre of works created for the constraints, and possibilities, of music-making in our moment.”

“HellaSecret” Comedy Show & Cocktail Night | Secret location in Oakland 

Get ready for a “HellaSecret” comedy show in Oakland. A new series of pop-up (and socially-distanced) live outdoor comedy shows at unique spots across the bay. A venue will be taken over and you’ll receive an email with the secret location the morning of the show. Enjoy an 80-minute comedy show with comics with credits like Cobbs, Punchline, SF Sketchfest, NBC, and Outside Lands. Required tickets run $15-20 and are available for shows at 6:30pm and 8:30pm both Friday and Saturday. Tickets can be purchased here.

Smuin Contemporary Ballet: Virtual Fall Dance Series "Program B" | Virtual

Smuin Contemporary Ballet is thrilled to present the Virtual Fall Dance Series, filmed and recorded live in October. This Fall Dance Series delves into Michael Smuin’s vast archive to provide solos and duets that showcase company artists as well as Michael’s flair for entertaining. “Program B” features select works from the repertory archive and includes the music of Willie Nelson and Frank Sinatra with new co-choreographed works. The program includes a virtual Q&A with artistic director Celia Fushille and the artists immediately following the presentation. The series runs through Nov. 29 with “Program B” streaming on Sunday at 4pm. Tickets can be purchased for each show for $25 or the full series. Jack London Square Farmer's Market | Lake Merritt or 12th St/Oakland City Center

Founded in 1989, the Jack London Square Farmers Market has deep roots in Oakland, offering local produce and food craft products. The market provides a weekly opportunity for the community to enjoy a variety of vendors along the beautiful Oakland waterfront. Market hours are 9am-2pm every Sunday and it's operated by the Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association (PCFMA). Take BART to Lake Merritt or 12th St/Oakland City Center and walk approximately 15 minutes to Jack London Square.

UNDSCVRD Sunday Market | Civic Center/UN Plaza 

Celebrate Filipino-American History Month by shopping, strolling, and dining down Folsom St. on Sunday from 11am-4pm. Enjoy two blocks of artisan markets and street art in a safe and physical-distanced manner. Take BART to Civic Center/UN Plaza and walk three minutes to Folsom St.

San Jose Berryessa Flea Market | Berryessa/North San José

The San Jose Berryessa Flea Market is steps from our Berryessa/North San José Station. Open from dusk until the dawn, the Flea Market is a not to be missed San Jose tradition where "one man's junk is another man's treasure." With over 120 acres of shopping, activities, and food vendors, there's bound to be fun around every corner. Walk-in admission is $3, and the entrance is located near Garden at the Flea and the East Lot.
