This weekend is a busy one in the Bay Area! Luckily, many of the best events are BARTable. It's the BARTmobile's 20th Birthday and we're celebrating with a party at Orinda! From kids’ shows in the Yerba Buena Children’s Garden to the Color Me Mind Festival and the Seventh Street Sidewalk Sessions in West Oakland — there’s a lot to choose from! The BARTmobile's 20th Bday Party

Mark your calendars for BARTy's party! This Saturday BART invites the public to Orinda for the BARTmobile’s 20th Birthday Party. For two decades, the BARTmobile has been a fixture at local events and parades. By hosting a birthday party, we want to honor its place in regional history and have an excuse to gather in a station to celebrate public transportation with our Bay Area community. Always wanted to ride in the BARTmobile? Here’s your chance! Members of the public will be given free rides throughout the event. Take BART to Orinda Station and the party will be in the rear reserved parking lot.
"Mrs. Doubtfire" at the Orpheum Theatre

BroadwaySF presents this comedy based on the classic, beloved and funny film. Starring Tony-nominated Rob McClure as everyone's favorite Scottish nanny, "Mrs. Doubtfire" arrives in San Francisco with rave reviews. The feel-good story about an out-of-work father who will do anything for his kids is as heartwarming as it is hilarious. Catch the show at the Orpheum Theatre just 3 feet from Civic Center/UN Plaza. After the show, head to The Madrigal (0.4 miles from Civic Center/UN Plaza) for an on-theme cocktail menu. “Collective Rage: A Play in Five Betties”

In this play, five people named Betty clash and connect in this queer fantasia of riotous self-discovery smeared with sex, rage and solidarity! Can a dinner party, a hand mirror, and a play within a play be the keys to turning solitude into understanding? Even happiness? Children’s Fairyland 510 Summer Fridays

“Coventry & Kaluza” Free Kids’ Show in the Park

For two years in a row, Jamie Coventry and Natasha Kaluza have won Best Comedy/Clown Act in the American Circus Festival and best duo in the Picklewater Free Circus Festival. Their show is full of comical characters, music and a lot of heart. Expect plenty of harmonicas, juggling and hula hoops from this dynamic duo. Berryessa Night Market

Seventh Street Sidewalk Sessions

Join the West Oakland community this weekend for Sidewalk Sessions on 7th Street. Expect vendors and live artistic and music performances from vibrant local talent. Grab a bite to eat and a cold one from the 7th West Kitchen before perusing the stalls and taking in the entertainment. Enjoy the vibes at this laid-back, fun atmosphere 0.3 miles from West Oakland.
Color Your Mind Festival
July 27 | Montgomery St

Be entertained this weekend by musicians who expand the boundaries of Indian classical music. Curated by Sameer Gupta, a visionary percussionist and jazz drummer who co-founded the Brooklyn Raga Massive, the Color Your Mind Festival also features sarod master Alam Khan and Carnatic vocalist Roopa Mahadevan. These talented artists will perform Hindustani and Carnatic raga music, which means “that which colors the mind." For top-class entertainment, head to Yerba Buena Gardens, 0.3 miles from Montgomery St.

Oakland Ballers v. Yolo High Wheelers

Built by Oakland. For Oakland. Forever Oakland. Baseball is in full swing, and if you're a fan and have yet to go to an Oakland Ballers game, you're in for a summer treat! Oakland's newest professional sports team plays at historic Raimondi Park, and this weekend, they take on the Yolo High Wheelers. Find food and drink trucks, an old-fashioned neighborhood field, good fans and downright good baseball. Get your tickets here. Exit at West Oakland and grab the free shuttle or an AC Transit 29 bus to Raimondi Field.
“Ben Folds” at Davies Symphony Hall

“Evita” at the San Francisco Playhouse
