Head to Oakland’s Chinatown for the 35th StreetFest, enjoy live music and local art in Rockridge at Rock-N-Stroll, catch an Oakland Roots soccer game in Hayward, watch “Monsters, Inc.” outdoors at Orinda Community Center Park, and so much more. Across the Bay, see “Evita” at the San Francisco Playhouse, hop on the city’s beloved Boat Tram, check out San Francisco Fashion Week or listen to live music at Yerba Buena Gardens Festival. Whatever you decide to do, don't forget your Clipper card, and enjoy yourself this weekend near BART.

Oakland Roots v. Memphis 901 FC

Cheer on the Oakland Roots as they take on Memphis 901 FC in Hayward. The Oakland Roots SC is a purpose-driven professional men's soccer team that harnesses the magic of Oakland and the power of sports as a social force for good. Witness them in action as they take that energy onto the pitch! Take BART to Hayward Station and hop on the AC Transit 60 bus to Pioneer Stadium to catch the match.

Front Row Music and Arts Festival

Celebrate local talent, community spirit and artistic innovation at Berkeley’s signature cultural event. The title sponsor, Meyer Sound, has been a cornerstone of the Berkeley business community since 1979 with this event commemorating their 45 years of pioneering excellence in the audio industry. Head to the event at the Downtown Berkeley BART Plaza for two dynamic stages showcasing an impressive lineup of local performers. Headliners include: The Curtis Family C-Notes, Barrio Manouche, Noelle and The Deserters and more.

Rockridge Rock-N-Stroll

Expect live music, popup vendors, kids’ crafts, art shows, tastings and fun activities for the whole family at the Rockridge Rock-N-Stroll. With 23 bands along College Ave. and over 50 local artists and artisans, there’s a lot to see. Plus, families will love the hands-on, creative activities, chalk art, storytime at the library and more. Take BART to Rockridge to be in the center of the action. 

“Ambrose Akinmusire” at Yerba Buena Gardens Festival

Trumpeter and composer Ambrose Akinmusire will entertain lucky guests at the Yerba Buena Gardens Festival this Saturday. He released two albums last year — one a solo trumpet recital and the other a project with guitar great Bill Frisell and New Orleans drum poet Herlin Riley. Head in to see and enjoy the Downbeat Magazine 2023 Trumpeter of the Year in the city this weekend. Yerba Buena Gardens is only 0.3 miles from Montgomery St.

Oakland Chinatown 35th StreetFest

This weekend near BART, the Oakland Chinatown Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 35th StreetFest in the heart of Oakland’s Chinatown. Spanning eight blocks, there are over 80 booths, two stages of entertainment and plenty of art, food, beverages and family activities. Plus, it’s a fantastic opportunity to support local businesses. The fun is only 0.2 miles from 12th St/Oakland City Center. 

Children’s Fairyland 510 Summer Fridays

The Bay Area’s favorite storybook-theme park in Oakland introduces 510 Summer Fridays, a special discount for Oakland residents ($5 per child, $10 per adult). For over 75 years, Children’s Fairyland has been a place of imagination, exploration and dreams. This summer, take advantage of the reduced entrance fees and create lasting memories with loved ones while experiencing multicultural programs, fairy-tale settings, rides, stories and animal interactions. This fairyland adventure is only 0.4 miles from 19th St/Oakland.

California Jewish Open

The first major open-call exhibition invites Jewish-identifying artists in California to submit pieces in response to a central question: how are artists looking to the many aspects of Jewish culture, identity and community to foster, reimagine, hold or discover connection? The result? An exhibition of forty-seven artists reflecting on their connection to Judaism, the world and their own history. Expect paintings, sculptures, interactive video games, video works, photographs and more. Witness the exhibition 0.3 miles from Montgomery St.

Celebrate summer with live music, exceptional wines, craft beers, tasty eats, artisan vendors and merchant special offers. A blast for all ages, the Vine Street Party starts with a kids’ dance party with DJ Juan. Then, the party continues with Callejeros Allegres, SASS (Silver & Sensational Squad) Dance, and Paula Marengo! Vintage Berkeley and North Berkeley Imports will pour wine while The Local Butcher Shop and The Walnut Tavern will serve local craft beers and delicious dishes. All of this is only 0.7 miles away from Downtown Berkeley.

Free Boat Tram Rides

San Francisco’s beloved Boat Tram is offering free rides on Sundays and Mondays through Oct. 14. The Boat Tram is one of three open-air streetcars in Muni’s roster, built in the 1930s for the seaside resort of Blackpool, England. The Boat Tram operates on the F Market line between the Ferry Building and Pier 39. Hop on just 0.2 miles from Embarcadero.

Summer Movie in the Park: "Monsters Inc."

This weekend head to Orinda Community Center Park to watch colorful characters Mike Wazowski and Sully on the big outdoor movie screen. “Monsters, Inc.” is a Pixar classic that will delight the entire family. Festicrawl: The San Francisco Music Festival Pub Crawl

Festicrawl is a musical journey through San Francisco. This new, annual event combines the thrill of a pub crawl with the atmosphere of a music festival. Ticket holders get free entry to all participating venues and can expect drink specials at every turn. The music lineup showcases an array of genres sure to keep you dancing all night. Check in at Mayes Oyster House, 0.9 miles from Civic Center/UN Plaza.

Timeless Film Fest

This annual festival showcases emerging Bay Area filmmakers. This year, the event is in a traditional movie theater and expanded to include carefully curated short films and longer films. This is a dress-to-impress event, so throw on your best attire and prepare for an unforgettable film evening. The Chabot Theater is just 0.7 miles from Castro Valley Station.

San Francisco Fashion Week

Do you love fashion? The third installment of San Francisco Fashion Week's Fahrenheit Summer fashion showcase is happening this weekend. Expect a fashion presentation, a cash bar and a closing party until 9 p.m. Celebrate fashion, innovation, and creativity 0.4 miles from Montgomery St.

Lips and Lashes Drag Brunch
