Looking for fun things to do in the Bay Area this weekend? Whether you’re craving live music, theater, a soccer game, an outdoor movie or even a bull riding event — we’ve got you covered. It’s the second weekend of the Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival, and legendary actor Jeff Bridges is coming to town for a screening of “The Big Lebowski.” There are also a few Easter Egg Hunts on both sides of the Bay and a Hunky Jesus contest in San Francisco’s Dolores Park. Whatever you decide to do, have a beautiful weekend.

Cheer on the Oakland Roots this weekend. Represent the home team during Green and Gold Day. Wear green and gold to get 10% off at the merchandise booth. Catch the action 0.2 miles from the Coliseum.

Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival

One of California’s most prominent Japanese and Japanese American traditions, the Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival is a family-friendly opportunity to witness the beautiful blooms, participate in cultural programs, shop local vendors and dine at the non-profit food bazaar. Most festivities are located in San Francisco’s Japantown, 1.3 miles from Civic Center/UN Plaza.

Outdoor Film Fest at PROXY

8–10 p.m. | 432 Octavia St.

Another weekend — another outdoor movie at the PROXY Walk-In Theater. This Friday in Hayes Valley, catch “Nocturnes,” a film about beautiful moths in the Eastern Himalayan forests. Before the show, grab a Fort Point Beer or a non-alcoholic tonic from the in-house juice shop. Catch the flick just 0.5 miles from Civic Center/UN Plaza.

“Spring Fling” Easter Celebration & Carnival
April 19 | Balboa Park
11 a.m.–4 p.m. | Moscow St. and Geneva St.

Celebrate spring and Easter on Saturday in San Francisco. This family-friendly BARTable event features egg hunts, games, live entertainment, carnival games and even photos taken with the Easter Bunny. Exit BART at Balboa Park and find the fun one mile away at Crocker Amazon Playground. 

Spring Fling at Salesforce Park

10 a.m.–1 p.m. | 425 Mission St.

Hosted by the East Cut CBD and Transbay Joint Powers Authority, the Spring Fling at the famous Salesforce Park features egg hunts, live music, crafts and face painting. Thirsty? Beverages are available for purchase at Barebottle. Enjoy family springtime activities just 0.3 miles from Montgomery St.

Easter In the Park & a Hunky Jesus Contest
April 20 | 16th St Mission
10 a.m.–4 p.m. | Dolores St., and 19th St.

The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence's annual Easter in the Park is entertaining for all ages. Head to Dolores Park for children’s activities at 10:30 a.m. where little ones can meet the Easter Bunny, join the Easter Egg Hunt, enjoy storytime and more. The main stage opens at noon, and all are invited to join the Hunky Jesus, Foxy Mary and bonnet contests. Take BART to 16th St Mission and find Dolores Park's festivities 0.6 miles away.
