The SFMTA cable car is running again in San Francisco after being out of service since March 2020 due to the pandemic. Face masks are required, and all lines are running. There's lots to see along the cable car routes and we'll show you some of our favorite spots to visit when playing tourist in the City. Ride BART to Powell St, and then make a quick and easy transfer to Muni. Let's go!

BART General Manager Bob Powers is relaunching his listening tour with a focus on visiting the current top 10 ridership BART stations to hear from riders who have been with us throughout the pandemic and those who are new or are now just returning.  “Meeting riders at our stations helps me learn if we’re meeting their needs,” said Powers. “It’s also invaluable for me to see first-hand how we’re doing with safety staffing, cleanliness, public address announcements and even if people are complying with the face covering requirement.”

BART now running near-regular service

BART returns to near-regular service starting 8/2/21
BART is ready to serve the region with the return of near-regular service starting Monday, August 2, 2021. The schedule change includes increased frequencies and extending closing times to midnight Mondays through Saturdays along with a dramatic increase in direct trips to SFO on weekdays.

After years of practice riding countless buses and trains in Boston and Philadelphia, Taylor brought his talents to the Bay Area on Monday, aiming to ride every mile of BART trackage in as short as time as possible.

BART starts limited late night service for Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays starting July 15
Beginning July 15, 2021, BART will run four trains leaving either Embarcadero or Civic Center at 11:30pm serving limited stops after regular BART service ends on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. These trains are in addition to the special service for A’s night games and the limited service provided for Giants' night games.
