Photo courtesy of San Francisco Fleet Week Association.Thousands of people come to the Bay yearly for Fleet Week, a pleasantly noisy display of aerial action. Biplanes, stunt pilots, parachutists and the Blue Angels all convene over the Bay against a spectacular backdrop. With activities all week and spectacular airshows October 11-13, keep your eyes on the skies as the Blue Angels practice in the afternoons above the Bay.

Oakland Athletic's players embrace each other after a win over the Texas Rangers. Photo courtesy Shae Hammond. The Athletics will play their last games in Oakland on Sept. 20-26, and BART is the most convenient way to get to the (almost) sold-out event. Ditch the traffic, skip the parking hassles and arrive at the ballpark ready to root for the home team. BART runs a 5-line service until 9 p.m. and a 3-line service until midnight every day, so you'll have plenty of time to catch a train after the game.
