San Leandro Pride
July 10 | San Leandro
4-9 p.m. | 1446 Washington Ave.

San Leandro celebrates Pride on Friday at Butterfly Plaza. Enjoy drag performances on the Main Stage, along with vendors, food trucks, community organizations and more. The event also features a costume contest for dogs, so bring your well-dressed canine. Join the fun at this third annual Pride celebration in San Leandro. It’s just 0.4 miles from San Leandro BART.

Paramount Theatre Movie Classics: Mrs. Doubtfire
July 10 | 19th St. Oakland
7 p.m. | 2025 Broadway

The Paramount Theatre’s Movie Classics series is back! The historic Oakland theater has relaunched its popular 35-millimeter movie series that has been on hiatus since 2018. This week, watch the 1993 hit "Mrs. Doubtfire," starring Robin Williams. Check the Paramount Theatre website for information on theater tours as well. The Paramount Theatre is just feet from 19th St. Oakland.

Yerba Buena Gardens Festival
July 10-12 | Montgomery St.

The Yerba Buena Gardens Festival in San Francisco features a powerful program of events this weekend, including Mariachi San Francisco (Kids’ Show) on Friday, soul music powerhouse Lady Wray on Saturday and Honoring Our Relatives Presented by Indigenous Justice on Sunday. The Sunday event is a unique program of cultural performances showcasing the diversity of Indigenous creativity. Take BART to Montgomery St. or Powell St., both of which are about 0.3 miles to the Great Lawn at Yerba Buena Gardens.

Oakland Ballers v. Yuba-Sutter Freebirds
July 10-12 | West Oakland
Times vary | 1689 20th St.

The Oakland Ballers are home for a series of games against the Yuba-Sutter Freebirds at Raimondi Park this weekend. On Friday, head to the ballpark for a special Star Wars night. On Saturday, the theme is Enter Possum (Metal Tribute Night). And Sunday’s game marks Oakland Zoo Day. Head to Raimondi Park to catch the action and all the special programming. Exit at West Oakland and walk 0.8 miles or jump on the Ballers shuttle or AC Transit 22 bus to Raimondi Park.

Temescal Street Fair

11 a.m.-7 p.m. | Telegraph Ave. from 45th-51st 

Check out the Temescal Street Fair, a family-friendly event that attracts more than 15,000 attendees every year. Enjoy three stages of music, artisan cocktails, outdoor dining from award-winning restaurants, a children’s zone, artisan vendor market, local fashion show and more. From DJs to choir performances, there is something for everyone at this vibrant street fair. Head to MacArthur, which is only about three blocks away. 

Oakland Roots v. Spokane Velocity
July 11 | Coliseum
Noon | 700 Coliseum Way

Enjoy some soccer this weekend as the Oakland Roots face off against the Spokane Velocity FC at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. The Roots have seen large turnouts at home games this year, as Bay Area soccer fans continue to support the team. Catch the action just 0.1 miles from the Coliseum BART

Into the Streets: Live on Larkin
July 11 | Civic Center/UN Plaza
Noon-5 p.m. | Larkin St. at Eddy St.

Into the Streets in San Francisco presents Live on Larkin this Saturday, with live music, DJs, free games and more. Celebrate community in the Tenderloin while enjoying the diversity and cultural dynamism of the neighborhood. This is a free outdoor street event. Take BART to Civic Center/UN Plaza and head about 0.4 miles to the festivities. 

Merola Opera Program Summer Festival
July 11 | Civic Center/UN Plaza
2 p.m. | 50 Oak St. 

Catch opera’s rising stars at the Merola Opera Program Summer Festival, which includes a performance of Peter Brook’s La Tragédie de Carmen. This work will be performed in French with English subtitles. Merola trains and develops some of the world’s finest young opera singers, pianists/coaches and stage directors. This is your opportunity to see them in action. The performance will be held at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Caroline H. Hume Concert Hall, located about 0.4 miles from Civic Center/UN Plaza.

Mutiny at Port Chicago: Black Resistance and Redemption
July 11 | Lake Merritt
1-3 p.m. | 1000 Oak St.

The Oakland Museum of California presents a special screening of Mutiny at Port Chicago: Black Resistance and Redemption. The film explores the story of the East Bay’s Port Chicago Sailors and will be followed by a panel discussion with community leaders. Gain historical insight and understanding of an important chapter in American history. The museum is just steps from the Lake Merritt BART Station.

Alameda County Fair
Through July 12 | Dublin/Pleasanton
Noon-11 p.m. | 4501 Pleasanton Ave.

The Alameda County Fair is in full swing with carnival rides, action sports, a concert series, movies and much more. On Fourth of July, don't miss the Fair's Fireworks Extravaganza lighting up the night sky following the evening's festivities (please note admission gates close on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.). You'll also find unique experiences ranging from interactive agricultural education at a working exhibition farm to an amateur wine competition. Take BART to Dublin/Pleasanton, and then catch the Wheels Route 10 bus to find the fun!

Where’s Waldo Local - Rockridge

Enjoy some hide-and-seek fun while you get to know local merchants. Can you find Waldo? He’ll be hiding in 26 different Rockridge businesses during the entire month of July. Families will love joining the scavenger hunt to find the iconic children’s book character. Pick up a game card at any participating business or at Pegasus Books and begin your search. Find 20+ Waldos for a chance to win one of 20 prizes and Rockridge gift cards. Pegasus Books is located just 0.2 miles from Rockridge BART.

"Life in Space"

Would you survive living in space? Find out what it’s like to stay alive in the extreme conditions beyond Earth at the Exploratorium’s "Life in Space" exhibition. Through science, art and hands-on programs, this exhibition is for space enthusiasts of all ages. The Exploratorium is located 0.7 miles from Embarcadero BART.

The Colma Community Fair brings craft vendors, local businesses, nonprofit organizations, food vendors and more to the Colma Community Center. Enjoy live music and family-friendly activities while supporting local makers and businesses. The Fair is located about 0.7 miles from the Colma Station

Bastille Day Fête du Marché

Head to Rockridge Market Hall this Saturday for an early Bastille Day celebration. With specials and tastings throughout the market, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy French wine, cheese, charcuterie, pastries and more. This is Market Hall’s 9th annual Bastille Day celebration and a must-visit for local Francophiles. Rockridge is right across the street.

Freight Community Education Festival

The Freight presents a full day of free events this Saturday, including multiple workshops and musical performances. Explore and learn about different musical genres, from bluegrass to hip-hop and more, with a series of educational workshops. Ferry Fest 2026

Ferry Fest 2026 is an outdoor music and arts festival for all ages. West Side Story: Film with Live Orchestra

Lamplighters Music Theatre presents Iolanthe, the Gilbert and Sullivan operetta about a war of wits between an army of magical fairies and members of the British Parliament over a forbidden romance. Calling all ABBA fans! Head to the Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco this weekend for a DJ-led dance party featuring ABBA favorites and other disco hits from the 70s and 80s. Dress in your disco attire and get ready to sing along to the disco anthems you love. The Rickshaw Stop is approximately 0.4 miles from Civic Center/UN Plaza BART

Charles Chen Quartet

The Piedmont Piano Company hosts the Charles Chen Quartet for an evening of music this Sunday. Bay Area pianist Charles Chen will be joined by guitarist Félix Lemerle, bassist Nico Martinez and drummer Brian Fishler. Located in Oakland’s Uptown Arts and Entertainment District, the Piedmont Piano Company is approximately 0.6 miles from 19th St. Oakland BART.
