Every week, BARTable finds the most fun and unique events accessible by public transportation. From Pride and Juneteenth events to neighborhood festivals and live music, there is plenty to do in the Bay Area this weekend. Gamelon Sekar Jaya

The Great Lawn at Yerba Buena Gardens hosts Gamelan Sekar Jaya, a Balinese music and dance group that combines artistic tradition with creative innovation. Enjoy the fast and precisely rhythmic sounds of western Balinese jegog, performed on bamboo instruments. Gamelan Sekar Jaya has set the standard for Balinese music and dance in North America for nearly five decades. Catch this performance just 0.3 miles from Powell St. Station.
San Leandro Cherry Festival
June 6 | San Leandro

Head to historic downtown San Leandro on Saturday for a day of music, food and fun at the San Leandro Cherry Festival. The festivities begin with a parade at 10 a.m., followed by the festival from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Highlights include a vendor market with more than 150 booths, a family fun zone, a car show, a fresh cherry market and cherry pie eating and baking contests. The San Leandro BART Station, the starting point for the morning parade, is 0.3 miles from the main festival location.
Walnut Creek Art & Wine Festival
June 6-7 | Walnut Creek

Kick off summer at the Walnut Creek Art & Wine Festival, which draws more than 30,000 attendees each year from throughout the Bay Area. Featuring food and wine, along with a craft beer garden, live music, arts and crafts, commercial vendor booths and a Kids’ Zone, this festival has something for everyone in the family to enjoy. Located at Civic Park, the festival is just 0.5 miles from Walnut Creek BART and 1.9 miles from Pleasant Hill/Contra Costa Centre Station, with free shuttle service available from both stations.
Pride in Yerba Buena
June 7 | Powell St

This variety show celebrates San Francisco’s LGBTQIA community with drag, circus arts and music. Hosted by drag king Tyson Check-In and featuring San Francisco’s Drag Laureate Per Sia, this all-ages party includes a vendor market starting at 1 p.m. Bring your own brunch, and head to the Great Lawn at Yerba Buena Gardens, located just 0.3 miles from Powell St.
Sundays at the Asian Art Museum: Pride Kickoff Party
June 7 | Civic Center/UN Plaza
2 p.m. | 200 Larkin St.
Spend Sunday at the Asian Art Museum with its Pride Kickoff Party. A free, family-friendly day celebrating LGBTQ+ joy and community, this all-ages dance party includes energizing music, courtesy of DJ Chico Chi, surrounded by beautiful Asian and Asian-American art. The museum is about 0.2 miles from the Civic Center/UN Plaza.
Set on a Hollywood film shoot where the chaotic soundstage mimics the real-world climate crisis their big-budget movie addresses, the director, Maria, tries to keep her set – and herself – together in this sharp-witted, fast-paced comedy performed by the Shotgun Players. Take BART to Ashby; the theater is 0.1 miles away.

Pride Comedy Night at Thrive City

Thrive City’s Pride Comedy Night is an outdoor showcase packed with sharp stand-up, drag performances and Bay Area queer talent. Hosted by HellaFunny, the evening features a lively lineup of comedians and performers in the heart of Mission Bay, with drinks available at Thrive City’s outdoor bar. Sister Roma of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence will host the packed program. Take BART to Powell St. and transfer to the Muni T Third Line to the UCSF/Chase Center (16th St.) platform.
Book Sale Block Party

The Friends of the San Francisco Public Library present the 4th annual Book Sale Block Party. Held in Potrero Hill, this event features more than 12k books, along with vinyl, author talks, the SFPL Bookmobile and more. The full day of programming also includes a Kids Zone, food and drinks. The Book Sale Block Party is just over a mile away from 16th St. Mission.
Free Techno Concert in Union Square

An open-air dance party for people of all ages, this free techno concert in Union Square features New York City techno pioneers Adam X and Frankie Bones, alongside local DJ 2Dahlia. Hosted by the local electronic music collective Free Techno SF and the Union Square Alliance, this is a community-focused celebration of dance music in the heart of downtown San Francisco. Bring your friends and fellow techno fans to join the fun. Union Square is just about 0.2 miles from Powell St.
Festa Italiana

Bring your appetite to Festa Italiana, North Beach’s lively annual celebration of Italian culture, food, music and community spirit. The two-day street fair fills San Francisco’s Washington Square with live performances, wine tastings, pizza tossing, local vendors and family-friendly activities, alongside the 105th Statuto Race on Sunday morning. A fun neighborhood tradition and summer kickoff, it’s one of the Bay Area’s most festive ways to celebrate Italian food and culture. The festival is about 0.9 miles from Montgomery St.
Juneteenth Pre-Cookout

Kick off Juneteenth with a “Pre-Cookout” celebration at the Oakland Main Library. Music for the Masses

Music for the Masses returns to the Cat Club in San Francisco with two rooms of music. In one, DJ Omar (Popscene) plays dark 80s new wave tunes from artists like Depeche Mode, The Cure, Bowie and more. The other room hosts “NASTY,” a Prince dance party. Whether you were an 80s kid or just love the music, don’t miss the fun this Friday night. It’s just 0.7 miles from the Civic Center/UN Plaza BART Station.
An Evening Under the Stars: Grown Folks Prom

It’s prom night all over again at this waterfront event with the Sana G Morning Show and DJ Lexx Jonez. Love Isn’t Blind

Love Isn't Blind puts a comedic twist on modern dating, as four men compete for one bachelorette. Hosted by comedian Allison Goldberg, the interactive show blends audience participation, live matchmaking and plenty of unexpected moments as contestants navigate a series of challenges onstage. Come for the laughs, and stay for the post-show mingling and social atmosphere. The Foundry SF is about 1 mile from Civic Center/UN Plaza BART.
Running is My High 5K/10K

Celebrate wellness and community at Running Is My High, the Native American Health Center’s annual 5K and 10K run and walk around Oakland’s Lake Merritt. The event blends fitness with cultural programming, featuring Native American traditions, community health resources, guest speakers and a welcoming atmosphere for runners and walkers of all levels. Marking its 25th year in 2026, the gathering has become a longtime Bay Area tradition centered on physical, mental and cultural well-being. The starting area near Children’s Fairyland is about 1 mile from Lake Merritt BART.
Rosé in the Park

Sponsored by the Nob Hill Association, Rosé in the Park returns with lunch, drinks, a raffle and LIVE NATION music. This annual neighborhood celebration will be held at Huntington Park, overlooking Grace Cathedral, atop Nob Hill. Join friends and neighbors at this festive San Francisco event, located about 0.5 miles from Powell St. Station.
Ariana Grande at Oracle Arena

Ariana Grande kicks off her Eternal Sunshine Tour here in the Bay Area with a series of shows at the Oakland Arena. The singer, songwriter and actress, known for her four-octave vocal range, will perform three shows in Oakland from June 6-10. The tour supports her seventh studio album, Eternal Sunshine. The arena is just a short walk (0.3 miles) from the Coliseum Station.
Best Croissant in San Francisco Competition

The perfect event for fans of French baked goods, this tasty competition brings together some of the Bay Area’s top bakeries for a culinary showdown at The Clift Royal Sonesta. Guests can sample croissants and pastries from finalist bakeries, cast votes for the People’s Choice Award and watch professional judges crown the city’s best croissant. Along with the pastry tasting, admission includes coffee or tea plus cheese and charcuterie. The venue is about 0.4 miles from Powell St. BART, making it an easy downtown stop for croissant lovers.
