An exhilirating program of adventuresome works invites audiences into the visceral, uplifting and provocative power of dance as the next chapter for ODC unfolds. Thrill to world premieres and acclaimed repertory from Founding Artistic Director Brenda Way, Co-Artistic Director Mia J. Chong and guest choreographer Gypsy Snider, Co-Founder of The 7 Fingers circus collective and "Dear San Francisco" 0.4 miles from Montgomery St.

Omar Sosa is a world traveler who carries the lush sounds and traditions of his native Cuba wherever he performs. A seven-time Grammy and Latin Grammy nominee, the acclaimed pianist, composer and bandleader brings a weekend of performances to SFJAZZ Center. Don't miss Omar and his guests over the weekend, just 0.2 miles from Civic Center/UN Plaza. 
 
Chinese New Year Festival & Parade

Named one of the top ten parades in the world by the International Festivals & Events Association and a USA Today "10 Best Readers’ Choice" honoree, the San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade is one of the few remaining illuminated night parades in North America and the largest parade outside of Asia. The community street fair will be on both Saturday and Sunday, and look for the BARTmobile in the parade on Saturday that begins at 5:15 p.m. Both events are happening 0.4 miles from Powell St. and 0.2 miles from Montgomery.
 
March 8 | Fruitvale

FanFest is the largest independent celebration of Oakland sports culture, drawing thousands of attendees to the Fruitvale Village. This free, community-driven festival is produced by the nonprofit Oakland 68’s and mission-driven brand Oaklandish. Now in its fourth year, the event unites pro teams, youth organizations, local businesses and civic leaders to showcase the economic power and cultural impact of Oakland’s fan base. Take BART to Fruitvale, and the celebration is right outside the station in Fruitvale Village.

"Spamalot," which first galloped onto Broadway in 2005, features a book & lyrics by Eric Idle and music by John Du Prez and Eric Idle. The original Broadway production was nominated for fourteen Tony Awards and won three, including Best Musical. The musical comedy lovingly ripped off from the film classic, "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," "Spamalot" features well-known song titles such as "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life," "The Song That Goes Like This," "Find Your Grail" and more that have become beloved classics in the musical theatre canon. Oakland First Friday makes its triumphant return this week. Taking over Telegraph Ave from West Grand to 27th St the event offers music, food and shopping from local vendors. This free community event is open to all ages. Head to 19th St. Oakland, and the festivities start 0.4 miles away. 
 
March 6 | Glen Park

Grab your gear and head to Glen Park Station for the monthly ride out. Riders of all ages are invited to join the monthly ride starting at BART and ending at Dolores Park. All ages are welcome and participants are encouraged to light up the night with cool bike decor.

A legendary tale comes to life in The Magic of Merlin's "The Sword in the Stone!" This exciting adventure tells the story of how young Arthur meets the wise and powerful Merlin, setting him on the path to becoming the legendary King Arthur. Filled with thrilling moments, enchanting music and plenty of audience interaction, this show is a magical experience for adventurers of all ages. The show will be shown at the Lesher Center for the Arts, 0.5 miles from Walnut Creek Station.

Holi is a vibrant Hindu festival, called the "Festival of Colors," that celebrates the coming of spring and the triumph of good over evil. Expect great music, good food and dancing. The event's staple activity is throwing colorful powders into the air and at each other, so dress accordingly. Take BART to West Oakland and find the celebration 0.3 miles away.

Oakland staple, Children's Fairyland, will host arts and crafts for families this weekend. The theme changes every week and the experience is included with ticket purchase. Get creative as a family with a nature-themed project that you can take home and put on display. Children's Fairyland is located at 699 Bellevue Ave, 0.6 miles from 19th St. Oakland.

This Sunday, celebrate International Women's Day at HELLA BEES in Oakland. HER Function will feature an all-female DJ lineup playing the best hits across genres, food, bevs, and a professional headshot corner.
