Shakespeare in the Park

Head to Sue Bierman Park to catch the Free Shakespeare in the Park’s "The Two Gentlemen of Verona." The 90-minute performance follows two young men as they journey from a small Midwestern town to the alluring promise of California, where dreams are made and shattered. Bring a blanket (and a lunch) and laugh, clap, cheer and sing along with this free, funny and heartfelt performance, just 0.3 miles from Embarcadero.

This world-premiere play by Obie Award–winner Christopher Chen starts as a lively, debate-style panel on animal testing, which quickly plunges into a moral labyrinth where the audience partakes in the experience via voting cards. Catch this clever comedy only 0.1 mile from Ashby.

This all-ages concert celebrates 15 years of EMPIRE in San Francisco. Watch the San Francisco Giants take on the Los Angeles Dodgers at Oracle Park. There are fun events all three days: Friday features Latin music and fireworks, Saturday offers a 49ers jersey giveaway to the first 15,000 fans, and Sunday is Fiesta Gigantes. Take BART to Embarcadero, then walk 1.2 miles or transfer to the Muni Metro N Line for easy access to the stadium.

Chinatown Noodle Festival

Slurp your noodles near BART this weekend at Chinatown’s Noodle Festival. This flavorful celebration at the Chinese Culture Foundation of San Francisco is just 0.5 miles from Montgomery St.

Black-Eyed Pea Festival

11 a.m.-6 p.m. | 17th and West Streets

Experience the 10th Annual Black-Eyed Pea Festival at Marston Campbell Park, featuring live music, food and a children's creative zone. The park is 0.5 miles from 19th St/Oakland.
