North Beach First Fridays Art Crawl

It's the first Friday of the month — the perfect time to head to North Beach. The neighborhood's First Fridays Art Crawl welcomes all art lovers to its galleries, museums, restaurants and bars to experience local artistic talent and entertainment during extended hours. After exploring, grab dinner at one of North Beach's many fantastic eateries. Take BART to Montgomery St for art and more, just 0.8 miles away.

"Lovers Lane" Valentine's Block Party

Head to Balmy Alley this weekend for the 4th annual love-themed street fair. Shop unique and handmade gifts. Enjoy food and drinks from neighborhood vendors. Listen to talented local musicians and participate in crafts and games. The block party is full of love and just 0.4 miles from 24th St Mission.
Lunar New Year Lion Dancing Festival

10:15 a.m.–5 p.m. | 4400 Mission St.
It's the Year of the Snake, and the West Coast Lion Dance Troupe is heading to the Excelsior Branch Library. The show starts at 2 p.m., but arrive early (at noon) to make Lunar New Year paper wand streamers. Enjoy the show (and the crafts) 1.0 mile from Balboa Park.
"Mozart to Mendelssohn" Free Full Orchestra Concerts

Music director John Kendall Bailey leads another "Mozart to Mendelssohn" orchestra event this weekend near BART. The program includes Ludwig van Beethoven (Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 61) with intermission performances by Joseph Joachim and Johann Brahms. Take BART to Civic Center/UN Plaza for a free orchestra concert 0.4 miles away at 401 Van Ness Ave.

3rd Annual Oakland Lantern Festival + Night Market

24th Annual Lunar New Year at OMCA

Celebrate the Lunar New Year this weekend at the OMCA. Little ones will love storytime, creating snake puppets and decorating red envelopes. In addition to learning about tea making, enjoying live entertainment and tasting delicious food, adults can also participate in a gallery chat with Bay Area artist Chelsea Ryoko Wong and OMCA’s Senior Curator of Art Carin Adams.
