This weekend is Día de los Muertos. Head to Oakland to enjoy the annual family-friendly celebration, where thousands visit to pay their respects. Expect live music, tasty food, altar exhibits, rides and games for kids, arts and crafts and plenty of vendors. This year’s theme is “Reflecting and Rejoicing.” The festival is only 0.3 miles from Fruitvale.
California Symphony’s "Brahms Odyssey"

This November, the California Symphony, conducted by Artistic and Music Director Donato Cabrera, takes audience members on a journey through the orchestra. Benjamin Britten’s lively Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra introduces different instruments, while former California Symphony Resident Composer Mason Bates invokes the spirit of Disney’s classic Fantasia in his Grammy-winning concerto for orchestra and animated film, Philharmonia Fantastique: The Making of the Orchestra. California Symphony wraps up the performance with Brahms' Symphony No. 4, a deeply emotional, poignant masterpiece. Catch the show 0.4 miles from Walnut Creek Station.

North Beach First Fridays Art Crawl

This weekend near BART, North Beach galleries, museums, restaurants and bars welcome art lovers to the First Fridays Art Crawl. Businesses will stay open late for a self-guided tour showcasing the vibrant art and entertainment of this bustling San Francisco neighborhood. After time perusing, take a break and dine at one of North Beach’s many fantastic eateries. Take BART to Montgomery St for art and more, just 0.8 miles away.
Halloween Hoopla at Yerba Buena Gardens

Not quite ready to stop celebrating Halloween? The 24th annual Halloween Hoopla is ideal for kids under 10 (and their adults). Festivities include a Halloween costume parade and performances from Circus Bella and Madam Z Palm Readings. Little ones will love the craft and activity tables from the Children's Creativity Museum, Yerba Buena Gardens Conservancy and the Mexican Museum. Take BART to Montgomery St for Halloween festivities 0.3 miles at the Children’s Garden in Yerba Buena Gardens.
Day of the Dead Festival of Altars

Honor your ancestors by building your own altar or witness beautiful altars built by the community. If you want to contribute to Community Altars, you’re more than welcome to bring flowers, 8-inch glass prayer candles and mementos of loved ones. While here, enjoy live performances, interactive arts and crafts stations and cultural ceremonies. Attend the Day of the Dead Festival of Altars 0.9 miles from 24th St Mission.
Annual Día de los Muertos Ritual Procession

This annual Día de los Muertos Ritual Procession in the Mission District Community is a lovely way to celebrate our ancestors, relatives and loved ones who’ve passed away. The approximately two-hour experience is led by authentic Azteca Dancers, who stop at each corner to perform a ritual dance. The procession is 0.7 miles from 24th St Mission.
Free Museum Days

The Bay Area is home to many world-class museums with incredible exhibits and beautiful art. This weekend, take advantage of free admission days. Check out a new space or return to an old favorite.
- Asian Art Museum is free on the first Sunday of each month (Nov. 3). Take BART to Civic Center/UN Plaza to witness artwork from all major cultures in Asia only 0.1 miles away at 200 Larkin St.
- Oakland Museum of California is free on the first Sunday of each month too (Nov. 3). Take BART to Lake Merritt to enjoy OMCA’s Galleries of California Art, History and Natural Sciences 0.1 miles away at 1000 Oak St.

Día de los Muertos with the San Francisco Symphony

The San Francisco Symphony has two fun events to celebrate Día de los Muertos in San Francisco. On Nov. 1, conductor Conner Gray Covington leads the symphony during the Academy Award-winning “Coco." On Nov. 2, the symphony presents its annual Latin American music and culture concert featuring traditional music with contemporary works honoring the holiday. Custom cocktails and mocktails are available on both nights. Also, enjoy dedicated altars and festive art installations created by local artists until Nov. 10. Take BART to Civic Center/UN Plaza for music and more only 0.4 miles away at 201 Van Ness Ave.
“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Movie Night” at Oracle Park

Beetlejuice is back this fall and there's no better place to watch the sequel than Oracle Park. The 10,000-square-foot scoreboard is larger than an IMAX screen! Plus, there are plenty of activities, like a costume contest, a black and white striped carpet with character cutouts, green lights illuminating the ballpark's landmarks, Beetlejuice decor (like inflatable sandworms) and themed food and beverages. Take BART to Embarcadero and walk 1.2 miles, or transfer at Embarcadero to the Muni Metro N Line and pop out at the stadium.
San Francisco International Tea Festival
