Find your community and show your pride this weekend in the Bay Area! Celebrate Juneteenth early at Oakland First Friday on June 7 or the SF Juneteenth Parade and Festival on June 8. Pride celebrations kick off across the city at iconic landmarks like the Tenderloin Museum and Manny's in the Mission. Rock the Plaza: Other People's Money

Other People’s Money (OPM) is one of the best rock cover bands in the Bay Area. Way beyond an ordinary cover band, the group specializes in delivering an authentic rock concert-level performance. OPM plays festivals, nightclubs, weddings and exclusive parties all over the Western U.S. These versatile musicians put on a high-energy show with all your favorites from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tom Petty, Stevie Wonder, U2 and everything in between. Yerba Buena Gardens Festival

Yerba Buena Gardens Festival (YBGF) is the independent presenting organization dedicated to enhancing the vitality and quality of life in the parks and open spaces of Yerba Buena Gardens and other public sites of San Francisco through the curated presentation of free artistic, community and cultural programs. The YBGF is an annual festival that runs throughout the summer. These curated presentations are free to the public and feature of wide range of artistic and cultural programs. This weekend, take BART to Powell St and head 0.3 miles to see Dyertribe and Izithunywa music groups perform soul-soothing jazz. 

Oakland Roots SC v. Tampa Bay Rowdies

Spend Saturday evening with the Oakland Roots soccer team. Gearing up against the Tampa Bay Rowdies, the Roots will bring grit and culture to the field. The Oakland Roots SC is a purpose-driven professional men’s soccer team that seeks to harness the magic of Oakland and the power of sports as a social force for good. Don't miss that energy as they take it onto the field. Take BART to Hayward Station and hop on the AC Transit 60 bus to Cal State East Bay to catch the match.

Written by Jonathan Spector and directed by Jon Tracy, “Best Available” is playing in Berkeley. City Repertory Theater Company launches a search for a new artistic director. Who is the best available candidate? Rising star and hometown hero Jonathan Spector interviewed dozens of theater makers to create this satirical tale. Take BART to the Ashby Stage to see this dark comedy about capitalism 0.1 miles from Ashby.

Celebrate Juneteenth at Oakland First Fridays. First Fridays is a signature monthly celebration where up to 30,000 attendees can experience arts, culture, food, music and community. The free event is open to people of all ages and shuts down Telegraph from 22nd to 27th Streets. Bring your friends, grab food from a food truck or local restaurant, dance live music and just vibe, 0.4 miles from the 19th St/Oakland.

Castro Art Walk

Explore the iconic neighborhood and enjoy a journey of art exhibits on the Castro Art Walk. The walk is an invitation to discover the creativity and artistic talent that thrives in the Castro neighborhood. Twenty art galleries and local merchants extend their business hours to host special events and share artwork with the community. Habitot Mobile Museum

Habitot’s moving museum is heading to Berkeley this weekend. The arriving activities are best for families with kids ages 0 to 5, but adults are encouraged to join the fun. Expect plenty of art, STEM activities and more, like a rocket and vehicle launcher, rocket building and tinkering, waterworks stations, a paintable wall and a baby ball pit. SF Juneteenth Parade & Festival

Celebrate Juneteenth in the heart of San Francisco. Honor Black freedom, heritage and history at San Francisco's second annual Juneteenth Parade & Festival. Featuring vibrant floats, live music and special honored guests. The parade will start at 11:00am, at Market and Spear Streets (near the Ferry Building) and continue 13 blocks west down Market Street, with the festival taking over Civic Center Plaza. Filipino Independence Day Festival

Head to District Six this weekend to experience an exuberant celebration of Filipino independence.
