Enjoy the final days of summer weather with a magical trip to Fairyland, Women's Marches around the Bay, and even a few different outdoor markets. This weekend's virtual events are also heating up with a concert from Third Eye Blind, the Autumn Lights Festival, and a defining football game for the San Francisco 49ers. Children’s Fairyland | 19th St Oakland
Good news! It’s time for the gates of Children’s Fairyland on the shores of Lake Merritt to reopen. While some of the park remains paused, there is still plenty of fun and magic to be had. There’s also a new Magic Key in Oaktown Orange that’s now available! Reservations must be made in advance online. Take BART to 19th St Oakland and the magic is a 20-minute walk away.
2020 Autumn Lights Festival | Virtual
Since 2012, more than 10,000 people each year flock to Oakland’s Lake Merritt to immerse themselves in the Autumn Lights Festival. This one-of-a-kind interactive art experience is always the talk of the town. Due to COVID-19, this year the popular tradition is going virtual. With three nights of presentations on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, you have multiple chances to check out the spectacular views of the Autumn Lights. More info and registration are available online.
Banchan Cooking Workshop | Virtual
The Oakland Asian Cultural Center presents a free live cooking workshop with Korean instructor, Sarah Kim Lee. Follow along as she answers the question, “What is banchan?” and teaches simple and delicious recipes. The class is free and begins at 6pm but you must RSVP.
Third Eye Blind Live | Virtual
Join Third Eye Blind for the first full band livestream since quarantine. The band will be playing in front of a live socially distanced drive-in concert in Del Mar, CA beginning at 8pm. From fan favorites to songs you expect to hear, this will be “The Screamer Tour” wrapped up in one night. Tickets are available online and are $15.



Women’s March San Francisco | Civic Center/UN Plaza and Virtual
The Women’s March in San Francisco begins just a few minutes from Civic Center/UN Plaza Saturday at 11am. While there is no in-person rally before or after the march, there will be some virtual action beginning at 11:15am. This march will commemorate all the lives lost in the COVID-19 pandemic and Black and Brown souls lost to police brutality. Masks and physical distancing are required for the in-person march. Women’s March Castro Valley | Castro Valley
The Women’s March in Castro Valley begins at Castro Valley High School, a 19-minute walk from Castro Valley Station, at 10am. This march will commemorate the life of the late Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The march will end at Adobe Park where there will be speakers. Masks and physical distancing are required for the in-person march. RSVP online.
Chinatown Music Weekend | Montgomery St
The Chinese Culture Center of San Francisco is bringing music to Chinatown Walkway Weekends. Enjoy live music from 12-5pm on both Saturday and Sunday from the likes of Ralph Granich, Anna Wong, The Genie, Jon Jang, DuoXL, and more. Take BART to Montgomery St and walk 12-minutes to Chinatown.
Virtual Wildlife Conservation Expo | Virtual
The Wildlife Conservation Expo is an annual event that welcomes you into the world of wildlife conservation. As this year is a year like no other, the Expo is bringing you a special experience where you’ll embark on an adventure filled with unprecedented stories from conservationists in the field. With over 24 different types of species and 49 speakers, this Expo will bring you wildlife conservation heroes from across the world. While the event is free, you can also pay-what-you-can as a donation. The Expo begins at 8am.

UNDSCVRD Sunday Market | Civic Center/UN Plaza
Celebrate Filipino-American History Month by shopping, strolling, and dining down Folsom St. on Sunday from 11am-4pm. Enjoy two blocks of artisan markets and street art in a safe and physical distanced manner. Take BART to Civic Center/UN Plaza and walk three minutes to Folsom St.
San Jose Berryessa Flea Market | Berryessa/North San José
The San Jose Berryessa Flea Market is steps from our Berryessa/North San José Station. Open from dusk until the dawn, the Flea Market is a not to be missed San Jose tradition where "one man's junk is another man's treasure." With over 120 acres of shopping, activities, and food vendors, there's bound to be fun around every corner. Walk-in admission is $2 and the entrance is located near Garden at the Flea and the East Lot.
San Francisco 49ers vs Los Angeles Rams | Virtual
All Niner fans are waiting for the full return of quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo, who has been battling a high ankle sprain over the last few weeks. This Sunday, the hope is for Garoppolo to make the start as the team takes on division rivals the Los Angeles Rams. Looking for their first home win of 2020, the game is prime time beginning at 5:20pm. There are numerous ways to watch including on NBC.
