Every week, BARTable finds the most fun and unique events accessible by public transportation. From Juneteenth and live music events to neighborhood festivals and sports, there is plenty to do in the Bay Area this weekend. Check out the North Beach Festival in San Francisco, Hella Juneteenth Festival in Oakland, the Alameda County Fair and much more.

Hella Juneteenth Festival
June 19 | West Oakland

Hella Juneteenth Festival takes over West Oakland on Friday for a full-day celebration of Black culture, community and freedom. Enjoy live music, DJs, food from some of the Bay Area's favorite chefs and restaurants, family programming, games and community activations throughout Prescott Market. As part of the West Oakland Juneteenth Takeover, the celebration continues that evening at the Oakland Ballers x Town Experience Juneteenth Game at Raimondi Park. Take BART to West Oakland Station and step directly into the heart of the celebration.
Oakland Ballers v. Modesto Roadsters
June 19-21 | West Oakland

The Oakland Ballers take on the Modesto Roadsters in a three-game homestand from June 19 to 21. Friday evening’s Juneteenth-themed event, dubbed “The Town Experience,” will feature local community and cultural activities alongside the game. On Saturday, it’s “Anarchy in the O-A-K” with a special Punk Night at the ballpark, followed by a Day of the Dead edition on Sunday for Father’s Day. Games are at Raimondi Park, 0.8 miles from West Oakland BART.
Alameda County Fair
June 19-July 12 | Dublin/Pleasanton
Noon-11 p.m. | 4501 Pleasanton Ave.
The Alameda County Fair kicks off in Pleasanton on June 19 with carnival rides, action sports, a concert series, movies and much more. You’ll find unique experiences ranging from interactive agriculture education at a working exhibition farm to an amateur wine competition. Open every Wednesday through Sunday through July 12, the Fair features fun activities for the whole family. Take BART to Dublin/Pleasanton, and then catch the Wheels Route 52 Fair Shuttle bus.
Castro Valley Car Show
June 20 | BART Station
11 a.m.-5 p.m. | Downtown Castro Valley Blvd.
The Castro Valley Rotary Club celebrates automotive excellence and local spirit at the Castro Valley Car Show, bringing together stunning classic cars and custom builds in the heart of downtown. Visitors can enjoy live music and great food as well. You don’t have to be a car enthusiast to enjoy this fun day in the community. Take BART to the Castro Valley Station, just 0.4 miles from the car show.
Berkeley Juneteenth Festival
June 21 | Ashby
11 a.m.-7 p.m. | Alcatraz at Adeline
Celebrate Juneteenth in Berkeley with musical performances, food vendors and a KID/STEM Zone for the little ones. Dating back to 1987, Juneteenth-in-Berkeley is a local tradition with a long history of bringing the community together in celebration. Spanning the five-block South Berkeley Alcatraz-Adeline corridor, the festival draws 1,000 to 2,000 people of all age groups and nationalities. It’s located just 0.4 miles from Ashby BART.
Set on a Hollywood film shoot where the chaotic soundstage mimics the real-world climate crisis their big-budget movie addresses, the director, Maria, tries to keep her set – and herself – together in this sharp-witted, fast-paced comedy performed by the Shotgun Players. Take BART to Ashby; the theater is 0.1 miles away.

Downtown Hayward Street Party

Head to downtown Hayward with friends and family for a street party with food, vendors and live performances. This is a great opportunity to shop local and support the community, including young ones at the Biz Kid Marketplace. The Hayward Station is less than 0.5 miles away.
San Leandro Juneteenth Celebration
June 19 | San Leandro Station
4-9 p.m. | 1446 Washington Ave.
Celebrate Juneteenth in downtown San Leandro with a family-friendly event featuring live music, food trucks, Black-owned business vendors and a special Juneteenth exhibit. Be sure to check out the student poetry slam, and support local youth. Just head to Butterfly Plaza, about 0.6 miles from the San Leandro BART Station.
Native Contemporary Arts Festival
June 20 | Powell St.
Noon-3 p.m. | Mission St. and Third St.
The Native Contemporary Arts Festival at Yerba Buena Gardens features Native music, dance, spoken word and visual arts while also showcasing vendors and crafts. Held on the Great Lawn, visitors can enjoy an afternoon outside in celebration of Native American art and culture. Enjoy performances by Paul Steward and other artists at this annual event, located 0.3 miles from Powell St.
North Beach Festival
June 20-21 | Montgomery St.
Time | Columbus Ave. and Green St.
The lively North Beach Festival is back for year 72 with more than 200 vendors spread across 11 blocks of this historic San Francisco neighborhood. The two-day festival features beer gardens, live music, Italian street painting, the annual blessing of the animals and more. Support local businesses and explore all that North Beach has to offer. Take BART to Montgomery St., 0.8 miles away from the festival.
Make Music Day Berkeley
June 21 | Downtown Berkeley

Enjoy live music in Berkeley this weekend. Make Music Berkeley brings musicians to businesses, restaurants, plazas, sidewalks and other public locations around town. Experience music from all genres, as over 102 artists help ring in the summer with a day of music spread across more than 33 venues in the city. Performances will be taking place throughout the city, including several within walking distance of Downtown Berkeley.

Valkyries v. Lynx (Juneteenth Theme Night)

The Golden State Valkyries celebrate Juneteenth as they take on the Minnesota Lynx on June 19th. In partnership with the Black Joy Parade, a curated pregame celebration at Thrive City will feature local vendors, Juneteenth activities for all ages and performances by Heat Danceline, the official Black Joy Choir and more. The first 10,000 fans in attendance for the game will receive a Juneteenth tote bag. Take BART to Powell St. and transfer to the Muni T Third Line to the UCSF/Chase Center (16th St.) platform.
Vintage Market by Pop-Up San Jose
June 20 | Berryessa/North San Jose
10 a.m.-5 p.m. | 1590 Berryessa Rd.
Pop-Up San Jose brings its Vintage Market to the Garden at the Flea, inside the San Jose Flea Market grounds. Featuring over 40 vendors, along with food trucks and live entertainment, this is the place to be for vintage fashion fans in the South Bay. Support local businesses while finding something unique to wear. The Vintage Market is located across the parking lot from the Berryessa/North San Jose BART (0.3 miles from the venue entrance).
Ube Festival
June 20 | Balboa Park
10 a.m.-6 p.m. | 2600 Geneva Ave.
The Ube Festival is back in the Bay for a full day of flavor and culture, featuring Filipino food, music and creativity. The event includes top Filipino food vendors and ube-inspired creations, as well as live music, DJs and cultural performances. Beyond the food, this is a celebration of identity, connection and Filipino culture. Take BART to Balboa Park, then take a bus or rideshare to the Cow Palace, approximately 2 miles away.
Fuerza Regida
June 20 | Montgomery St.

Fuerza Regida brings its “This is Our Dream” tour to San Francisco on Saturday for a performance at Oracle Park. Enjoy the sounds of regional Mexican music from this popular American band. Fuerza Regida is one of the pioneer groups for corridos tumbados, a subgenre of regional Mexican music with elements of narcocorrido and rap music. From Montgomery St. BART, Oracle Park is a one-mile walk down 2nd St.
Diljit Dosanjh at Chase Center
June 20-21 | Powell St.
8 p.m. | 1 Warriors Way
Indian superstar Diljit Dosanjh brings his Aura World Tour to San Francisco with performances at Chase Center on Saturday and Sunday. Hear the Punjabi music that has made him a global sensation and made him the first Indian artist to perform at Coachella in 2023. Dosanjh has earned a following not just as a singer, but also as an actor in Indian cinema. Get to the Chase Center by taking BART to Powell St. and transferring to the Muni T Third Line to the UCSF/Chase Center (16th St.) platform.
