Flower Market Fair

Head to the Flower Market Fair on Grant Ave. between Clay and Broadway this weekend to shop for flowers, fruit and candies. Expect a wide variety of goods with over 120 booths to choose from. Plus, you’ll see magicians and folk dancers. Take BART to Montgomery St to join the Lunar New Year festivities 0.7 miles away. The hours are 10 a.m.–6 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m.–6 p.m. on Sunday.
Terence Blanchard E-Collective & Turtle Island Quartet

As a master trumpeter and composer, Blanchard brings a soulful mix of jazz, funk, and R&B to the stage. Whether you're a longtime jazz fan or this is your first show, this night of live music will surely entertain. The SFJAZZ Center is the perfect venue to feel every note, and it's only 0.5 miles from Civic Center/UN Plaza.
“Some Like it Hot” at the Orpheum Theatre

The musical theater adaptation of the 1959 film “Some Like It Hot” has won four Tony Awards and a Grammy. The hysterical story follows two musicians forced to flee Chicago after witnessing a murder. Chased by gangsters, they board a train and embark on the trip of a lifetime. It's the final weekend to catch this hilarious show at the Orpheum Theater, only steps from Civic Center/UN Plaza.
"Glow" at the Exploratorium

Learn about science and light at this winter wonderland exhibit at San Francisco’s Exploratorium. Celebrate the Year of the Snake at the Millbrae Lunar New Year Festival. All ages will enjoy traditional lion dances, delicious Asian cuisine and artisanal crafts. Over 100 vendors and local businesses will be at this celebration, just 0.6 miles from Millbrae Station.

Cheese lovers, don't miss Rockridge Market Hall's 2nd Annual Epic Cheese Fest. This fun and free event features tastings and demonstrations from top artisan cheese makers. Delicious Alp Blossom, Hornbacher, Gruyere 1655 and more are just steps from Rockridge.

Head to Chinatown's Him Mark Lai Branch Library for a special book event featuring, "Feasts of Good Fortune: A Culinary Journey Through San Francisco's Chinatown." The story offers a glimpse into the rich culinary traditions and stories behind SF's most iconic neighborhood. The authors are mother and daughter duo Hsiao-Ching Chou and Meilee Chou Riddle, and they have much to share. RSVP here and enjoy the chat 0.6 miles from Montgomery St.

This weekend, explore Chinatown's local alleys, temples and dim sum on a walking tour through one of the oldest Chinese communities outside of China. Each tour lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. Take BART to Montgomery St and head 0.4 miles to start the adventure at Portsmouth Square.

Presented by the San Francisco Civic Music Association, this weekend's Civic Symphony concert at Herbst Theatre is "The Best Things Come in Threes." Led by musical director Paul Schrage, enjoy Hungarian Rhapsody No. 3, Piano Concerto No. 3, and Symphony No. 3. Listen to the oldest community orchestra on the West Coast, 0.4 miles from Civic Center/UN Plaza.

SF Symphony at Davies Symphony Hall

Davies Symphony Hall is packed with music this weekend. On Friday and Saturday, enjoy Richard Strauss' iconic "Also sprach Zarathustra," which was featured in "2001: A Space Odyssey" and "Barbie." On Sunday, enjoy chamber music performances by small groups of symphony musicians. Enjoy the shows 0.3 miles from Civic Center/UN Plaza.
Lunar New Year at Children's Fairyland

Children's Fairyland hosts three family-friendly, fun-filled days to celebrate the Lunar New Year. On Jan. 24, enjoy snacks and storytime. On Jan. 25 and 26, dine on sweet treats, enjoy arts and crafts and learn how to lion dance. Children's Fairyland is 0.6 miles from 19th St/Oakland.

Seollal is the Korean Lunar New Year. This weekend, you can celebrate at the Korean Center, Inc. Learn more about Korean traditions and culture through interactive activities, taste delicious treats like "Mandu" (Korean dumplings), and play Yunnori, a Korean New Year's board game. This family-friendly event is one mile from Civic Center/UN Plaza.
"Tom Segura: Come Together" at the Chase Center
Jan. 24 | Powell St or 16th St Mission

Laugh out loud with a night of comedy featuring Tom Segura. Best known for his Netflix special, this actor, comedian, writer and podcaster is full of sharp wit and relatable humor. Take BART to Powell St or 16th St Mission and walk or hop on Muni to the Chase Center.
Jan. 26 | Fruitvale
10 a.m.–3 p.m. | 333 Lancaster St.
Held in a massive 90,000-square-foot warehouse in Oakland, the White Elephant Sale is the Bay Area's largest rummage sale and a shopping paradise for thrifters and treasure hunters. Here, you'll find everything from vintage furniture and art to books, toys and clothing. Proceeds support the Oakland Museum of California. Go shopping 0.5 miles from Fruitvale.
