Garage science experiments sound like a cliché, but such was the origination of Mission Science Workshop. San Francisco’s Dan Sudran found that his personal collection of science oddities in his Mission neighborhood garage was increasingly and organically captivating local kids walking by. Today, Mission Science Workshop has evolved into two locations (one in the Mission a short walk from 16th St Mission Station and one in the Excelsior). Both offer bilingual science education that stirs the minds of more kids than he could have first imagined—all through ongoing after school workshops, field trips, summer programs and Saturday drop-in sessions.
