#virtuallyBARTable | Restaurants Open for Delivery & Takeout

Sheltering in place doesn’t have to mean foregoing your favorite Bay Area bites. The local restaurant industry is looking for support more than ever, and with delivery and takeout options still available at many spots, you can support small businesses while taking a break from your home cooking.
Since it’s not as easy these days to make your way to the following restaurants, they’re making their way to you with delivery services. This means we can stay in place while still eating cuisine influenced by global traditions.

Pica Pica is delivering ingredients for its popular array of arepas for locals to put together at home. Choose your arepa filling of choice (shredded beef, pulled pork, spicy chicken catira, beef asado, and black beans) and all the components will be sent your way, half-baked, and packaged with their signature sauces and sides. Pica Pica is also raising funds to serve free freshly-made Venezuelan meals to low-income and senior residents. Donations to support this cause can be made via Venmo to @picapicakitchen.

Perched near MacArthur Station on Telegraph, Co Nam’s self-described “rustic Vietnamese street food” is an Oakland favorite. Continue to take in the restaurant’s beloved pho during a rainy day, green papaya salad on a sunny day, or a mult-faceted noodle bowl any day of the week. Order your favorite Vietnamese comfort food dish online, for delivery or takeout. Another bonus: Check out the “Essentials” menu for purchase of items like eggs and toilet paper when available.

Downtown Berkeley’s signature Revival Bar + Kitchen is currently serving up its meals made with local organic ingredients—through curb-side drop-off and delivery. Charcuterie, pizzas, vegan soups, housemade bacon, italian meatballs, and—the comfort food of comfort foods—the “Deluxe Mac+Chz.” Plus, the restaurant is serving up local Wrecking Ball coffee beans in addition to cocktails and beer.

While we can’t go around giving sweet hugs, we can sulk over some freshly churned pints of sweet ice cream. Smitten is providing takeout and delivery of its locally made “pick-me-up pints” to get everyone through this time with cold desserts in hand. There are even “Shelter-in-Place Care Packages” of selected pint varieties that make fitting gifts. Cookie Dough with Pretzels and Chocolate Chips, Bee Sting honey ice cream, or Chocolate Ganache ice cream should do the trick.
