Having long been on Clay Street, the Museum of Children’s Art (MOCHA) is moving to its new and expanded location in Downtown Oakland in fall of 2018, just steps from 12th St/Oakland City Center Station. Along with that physical growth in a revamped and more centralized 6,600 square-foot space, MOCHA is broadening the programming it has offered for three decades of nurturing local youth through art. Monthly Family Art Making Days (FAM Days), each third Saturday, guide parents and kids through a collaborative take-home project, $5 drop-in open studio play time with themed art projects host facilitated fun, and art parties are all the rage for the tots. Check the non-profits calendar of events and classes to learn more about its latest art education offerings.
