Plan to attend the 22nd annual Lafayette Art and Wine Festival the weekend of Sept. 16-17, where local art, a wide variety of local gourmet food and flavorful high-end wines, local toe-tapping musicians and family entertainment will make your weekend complete. Ride BART (Lafayette BART Station) and walk one block or catch the free shuttle.
Original fine arts and crafts
Stroll through numerous booths including the special exhibit in the “Local Artists Alley” (La Fiesta Square) that showcases fine artists from Lafayette, Moraga and Orinda. Plan to shop at over 250 arts and crafts booths, featuring soaps, olive oils, vinegars, dog treats, pottery, photography, mosaic art and clothing.
Food and drink
Twenty top neighborhood restaurants await you if you’d like to dine indoors or order takeout to enjoy as you view the festival. The Cooperage American Grille, Yankee Pier and Homegrown Sustainable Sandwiches are all fan favorites. Check out popular food booths such as and Sonoma Teriyaki (chicken teriyaki-on-a-stick) and Lantern Catering (crab cake sandwiches, lobster roll sliders and grilled marinated artichokes).
Want something sweet? IzzyA’s Frozen Custard food truck will be in town. Treat yourself to an iced-cold salty caramel or lemon meringue custard. Don’t forget the toppings!
There will be popular wines and ales served at the festival.
Continuous music and dancing
Four stages will fill your urge for good music and dancing. Check out some country pop with the Steven Ybarra Band and the Spazmatiks for the ultimate 80’s experience, complete with geeky charm. Listen and dance to the 3day Weekend Party Band for some motown, funk and rock that will sure to keep you moving.
The festival is family-friendly and the KidZone is the place to be. Entertainment will delight you on the Family Stage and in many exciting booths to keep the little ones smiling and engaged during your visit to the festival.
