Baseball is back: The BARTable team shares their favorite Bay Area baseball memories

Opening day at home is just around the corner for the Oakland A’s and San Francisco Giants. The A's take on the Angels on Thursday, March 28, and the Giants take on the Rays on Friday, April 5. In honor of a new baseball season, we've asked the folks who bring you BARTable where their allegiance lies, and any tips and tricks they have when they go to a game.

And if you have anything to add, tag us on Twitter, Facebook or Instagramor drop us a line and let us know your favorite Bay Area baseball memories and what you’re looking forward to this season. Use #bartablebaseball

Remember: BART is an easy way to see the A’s and Giants. Learn how you can get to the game by riding BART (and don’t forget your Clipper card).

SF Giants and Lou Seal

Jill Buschini, aka partner liaison and the person who secures those sweet BARTable prizes

  • Are you an A’s or Giants fan? Giants all the way!
  • Who is your favorite player? From the old-school Giants teams, I always loved Matt Williams, Robbie Thompson, Will Clark and Jose Uribe (UuuuuuuRibe!). Current day: Buster Posey (is there a better name for a baseball player?), Brandon Crawford, Hunter Pence (will miss you!), Joe Panik and how can I leave out Manager Bruce Bochy “the Boch!”? Can we talk announcers? I love me some Kruk and Kuip!
  • Favorite Bay Area baseball memory? We were at the game when Buster Posey made his debut in 2010. I'll never forget how the team energy changed that day! I cried when they won the World Series that year. The two that followed within 5 years...well, let's put it this way; what a fantastic ride it was!
  • Promotional item you’re most looking forward to this year?
  • Series you’re looking forward to? Always the Dodgers. Go Giants!
  • Favorite place to watch the game? Anywhere inside AT&T Park, of course (don't know if I'll ever get used to calling it "Oracle Park").
  • Any tips or tricks? When going to a home game, hit Lucky Strike across the street for nachos before or after the game. Yum!
  • Anything else? I *cannot* wait for the sound of baseball to waft through the Bay Area again. Woohoo!

SCU-TA-RO! *claps five times* As a broke student, I would skip history class plan my class schedule around the $2 Wednesday games (another fun BART promotion!) and sneak into the left field bleachers where Marco Scutaro played and the fans gave him his own chant.
  • Favorite Bay Area baseball memory? The Streak! Also, being part of the BART/A's TV commercial shoot.
  • What are you looking forward to this year? I’m intrigued by the K-Pop Fireworks show on Aug. 16.

  • Favorite place to watch the game? The bleachers.
  • Any tips or tricks? Not to self-promote, but you can get $15 Field Level tickets through the BARTable Rapid Deal Days promotion. You can’t beat that price!
