It's a good weekend to get your culture on, folks. Enjoy a wide variety of events across the Bay - from African American cultural celebrations in Oakland to Latin American festivities in Hayward and the City, to a Vietnamese festival with free mooncake. There's something for everyone, but there's only one chariot to get you there - BART.

Rooftop Salsa Dance Party by Montgomery St

Get ready to add some spice to your step with a mix of Salsa and Bachata dance lessons at Salesforce Park. The free dance party will happen from 6-8pm. Don't want to dance? Check out the park's 13 different botanical features, walk along the trail, or hang out on the grassy lawns that are 70 feet above Grand Hall. Take BART to Montgomery St and walk seven minutes to Salesforce Park.

Oracle Park Summer Concert Series by Embarcadero

Come down to Seals Plaza at Oracle Park (located behind the center field scoreboard) beginning at 5pm for a free concert featuring Rumbache along with an Anchor Brewing Happy Hour and seasonal food options. The concert is free and does not require a game ticket. Take BART to Embarcadero and transfer to Muni Ballpark or Sunnyside lines. You can also enjoy the scenic views of the Embarcadero and walk 20 minutes to Oracle Park.

Mariachi Festival by Hayward

Come out for a fun night of Mariachi music at Hayward City Hall Plaza. There will be food and beverages for purchase. Bring the whole family for a night of fun from 5-9:30pm. Take BART to Hayward and walk two minutes to the plaza.

Friday Nights at Oakland Museum of CA by Lake Merritt

Get your Oakland groove on at Friday Nights at Oakland Museum of CA. This free event has food trucks from Off the Grid, beer, wine, music and so much more. The night also features a hands-on art workshop for all ages between 5-8pm. Want to visit the museum? After-hours access to the exhibits are available. Take BART to Lake Merritt and walk two minutes to the museum.

Eastlake Annual Moon Festival by Lake Merritt

For more than ten years, the Vietnamese community has hosted an annual Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival at Clinton Park, bringing out thousands of families from across the East Bay. The Lantern Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is the second most popular festival in Vietnam, China and Southeast Asian countries – widely known for live traditional music, dance performances, lantern making contest, and… FREE mooncake. The event runs from 2-9pm. Take BART to Lake Merritt and walk 15 minutes to 1230 6th Ave.

Black-Eyed Pea Festival by MacArthur

The 2019 Oakland Black-Eyed Pea Festival is a celebration of African and African American culture using a cherished foodway as its theme. The Festival typically features traditional musicians, artists and storytellers, art and craft vendors, health information, community resource booths with health screenings, a children’s crafts area, and corporate and community sponsors. Take BART to MacArthur and walk 14 minutes to Oakland Technical High School (4351 Broadway). The event runs from 11am to 6pm.

Rockridge Out & About by Rockridge

The 13th Annual Rockridge Out & About Festival is this Sunday from 12-6pm on College Ave, steps away from Rockridge Station. Enjoy an afternoon of live music, art, shopping, and fun for the whole family. Take BART to Rockridge and walk along College Ave from Claremont to Lawton.

“Fiesta De Las Américas” Street Fair by 24th St/Mission

The Calle 24 Latino Cultural District presents the third annual Fiesta de las Américas taking place on 24th Street, within the Latino Cultural District in San Francisco. The festival will extend from Folsom to Bryant street with Latinx music, Lowriders, performances and family activities. Celebrate the independence of various Latin American countries and commemorate the culture, arts and music found from Patagonia to the Arctic Circle. Take BART to 24th St/Mission and walk down 24th St.
