Music... check. Movie... check. Farmers markets... check. Art exhibits... check. What do all of these events have in common? They're all BARTable this weekend.

Friday Farmers Market & Bazaar by Civic Center/UN Plaza
Featuring the best of San Francisco, grab fresh fruits and veggies, buy gifts from local vendors, and grab lunch at food stalls representing cuisine from diverse communities throughout the city at the Friday Farmers Market & Bazaar in UN Plaza from 7am to 4pm. While vendor stalls are open throughout the day, during lunch hour you can eat al fresco with your friends or colleagues at the city's longest picnic table and challenge them to a game of Giant Jenga, Chess, or Connect Four. Take a lunchtime BART ride to Civic Center/UN Plaza and walk three minutes to the plaza.
Friday Nights at OMCA by Lake Merritt
Sit back and unwind at Friday Nights at OMCA, bringing you the best of local cuisine along with music, dance, and late-night access to the entire museum. Enjoy hands-on activities for kids and a lineup of live music and dance from different local performers each week. Bring friends and family for a taste of local music, food, and culture at the Oakland Museum of California from 5-10pm. The event is free, but some exhibits may require an entry fee. Take BART to Lake Merritt and walk three minutes to the museum.
Enjoy a free movie in Salesforce Park under the stars on Friday at the park's amphitheater. This Friday's movie is 80's cult classic Say Anything at 6pm. Pre-registration via Eventbrite is required for priority seating and anyone who has not pre-registered will be allowed in on a first-come, first-served basis five minutes before the movie starts. Get there early and stake out a good spot! The lawn opens at 4:30pm for those who have pre-registered. Take BART to Montgomery St and walk seven minutes to the park.
Enjoy a lively evening of Son Jarocho music, dancing, and zapateado– bring your dance shoes and instruments, or just come and enjoy the music and dance! Son Jarocho is a lively traditional art form from the southern Mexican state of Veracruz. This lyrical and danceable music genre melds together three cultures: Arabic-Spanish, African, and indigenous Mexican. The event is free, but donations are welcomed at the door. Take BART to Ashby and walk five minutes to La Peña Cultural Center.
Oakland Symphony's Notes from Korea by 19th St/Oakland
Absorb the sounds of Korea. The haegeum has mesmerized for a millennium. Jean Ahn’s Concerto for this ancient folk instrument delicately spins silken lines of sound in communion with the Orchestra. Two works by Texu Kim bring the worlds of the west and Korea together, symphonic poems of this age, drawing on impressions of the past. Plus, Grieg’s beloved Piano Concerto with one of Korea’s finest keyboard artists. Tickets are available online for Friday's show at the Paramount Theatre at 8pm and range from $25-$90. Take BART to 19th St/Oakland and walk five minutes to the theatre.
Richmond Art Center | Current Exhibitions by Richmond
The countdown to the end of the current exhibitions at the Richmond Art Center is on. Check out five exhibits that include focusing on custom motorcycles as self-expression, a gallery that transforms the transitional and intangible nature of spaces, and works by young artists that participated in a free printmaking class at the Center. The Art Center is open to the public and exhibits are free. Take BART to Richmond and walk eight blocks to the Richmond Art Center.
The Intriguing World of Insects: Lecture & Guided Tour | SFO Museum by San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
Whether we see them or not, insects have a constant presence in our lives. From pollinating the fruits and vegetables we eat and helping cure diseases through DNA research, to pests we find in our homes and gardens, there is no escaping the intimate relationships insects share with fellow earthlings. Learn more about The Intriguing World of Insects and the important roles they play in our ecosystems during a lecture and guided tour by Dr. Peter Oboyski. The event is free with registration to email@example.com. Take BART To San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and heading to the Aviation Museum and Library located on the departures level of the International Terminal Main Hall (pre-security).
The Final Fog City Flea by Embarcadero
Fog City Flea is a curated market of makers & merchants from San Francisco, the Bay Area and beyond. It was created exclusively for the historic Ferry Building and is in its last Sunday of the season. Guests are invited to stop by the marketplace and fuel up on the Ferry Building’s endless selection of food and drink offerings before heading upstairs to the Grand Hall for an afternoon of retail therapy. Fog City Flea is free and from 10am to 5pm. Take BART to Embarcadero and walk four minutes to the Ferry Building.
Jack London Square Farmers Market by 12th St/Oakland City Center
The Jack London Square Farmers Market is operated by CUESA at Oakland’s Jack London Square on Sundays from 10am to 3pm. Founded in 1989, the Jack London Square Farmers Market has deep roots in Oakland, providing a vibrant waterfront marketplace for Bay Area families. With more than 40 vendors, the Jack London Square Farmers Market offers local produce, food craft products, and breakfast and lunch options. Take BART to 12th St/Oakland City Center and walk 15 minutes to Jack London Square.
