Valentine's Day with your boo just isn't the same without BART. This Friday, we have 48 recommendations on where to take your darling. Then, celebrate San Francisco craft beer or take a bike ride. It's a long weekend for some, so we have suggestions on how to fill your Monday as well.

Ubuntu Theater Project presents "MacBeth" by 12th St/Oakland City Center

Valentine's Day date night by BART

Happy Valentine's Day! We put together a map of the best Valentine's Day spots within a 10-minute walk of all 48 BART stations. Whether you're looking to share a sweet treat, see a show, shop 'til you drop or burn off all those chocolates you ate, there are plenty of places to enjoy with your sweetie. 

San Francisco City Hall lights up red and pink by Civic Center/UN Plaza

Take your lover to see San Francisco City Hall and its 220+ state of the art LED lighting fixtures illuminated in reds and pinks to celebrate Valentine's Day. Take BART to Civic Center/UN Plaza and walk three minutes to city hall.

New heart sculptures in Union Square by Powell St

Just in time for Valentine's Day, the beautiful "Hearts in San Francisco" will be unveiled at the four corners of Union Square on Friday. The 2020 collection of hearts will be on display until November 2020. Ride BART with your sweetie to Powell St and walk four minutes to Union Square.

Friday Farmers Market & Bazaar at UN Plaza by Civic Center/UN Plaza

A new market has launched in UN Plaza every Friday, from 7am-4pm and features the best of San Francisco! Grab fresh fruits and veggies, buy gifts from local vendors, and grab lunch at delicious food stalls representing cuisine from diverse communities throughout the City. Take BART to Civic Center/UN Plaza and walk two minutes to the Plaza. 

SF (Science Fiction) by the Bay by Civic Center/UN Plaza

SF by the Bay, the Main Library’s grand celebration of Bay Area science fiction continues through April 30. Experience over two dozen programs, including film screenings, author talks, live dramas, lectures, panel discussions, a "filk" music concert, book displays, a costume contest, and an exhibit of rare books, magazines and art drawn from the Main Library’s J. Francis McComas Fantasy and Science Fiction Collection, a reference collection of more than 3000 books and magazines. Take BART to Civic Center/UN Plaza and walk three minutes to the library.

Friday Nights at OMCA by Lake Merritt

The Winter Season of Friday Nights at OMCA is in full effect, bringing after-hours gallery access, DJ sets from the Bay's finest, family friendly drop-in activities, and more. Bring your family and friends for a taste of local music, food, and culture at the Oakland Museum of California. The fun begins at 5pm and runs till 10pm. Take BART to Lake Merritt and walk two minutes to the museum. 

Friday Night Outdoor Roller Skate DJ Party: “Midnight Rollers” by Embarcadero

The Midnight Rollers is a group of skaters both inline and rollers that gathers every Friday night to skate the city streets from the Ferry Building to Pier 39 and beyond. Skaters come from all over the Bay, other parts of the country and around the world to be a part of this positive energy mass. Meet at the Ferry Building, just five minutes from Embarcadero, at 8:45pm and the skate starts at 9pm. Be sure to check out the website before you go to make sure you have all the appropriate gear needed for the skate.

Monster Jam by Coliseum

Get the family ready for adrenaline-charged entertainment with Monster Jam. Witness the roar of Grave Digger, Max-DTM and many more recognizable trucks. The show is at 7pm on Saturday and 3pm on Sunday at Oakland Arena. Take BART to Coliseum and walk 10 minutes to the fun.

Cupid’s Undie Run by 19th St/Oakland

Experience a "brief" mile(ish) fun run that takes place in the middle of a big party - all to find a cure for neurofibromatosis (NF), a genetic tumor disorder that affects 1 in every 3,000 births. Participants are encouraged to run in their undies. Meet other jocks at Make Westing at 12pm. Take BART to 19th St/Oakland and walk four minutes to 1741 Telegraph Ave.

2020 “Alleycute”: A cute pairs bike race by Lake Merritt

"Race" around the East Bay in the cutest alleycat you could possibly ride. All bikes and skill levels are welcome, but everyone needs to race as part of a team of two or more so bring your friends. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and DFL and other goodies for everyone. Take BART to Lake Merritt station and find the starting line outside the station at 12:30pm.

SF Beer Week by Various Stations

SF Beer Week is a collection of curated events, spanning multiple days, celebrating craft beer, the craft community and the Bay Area’s creative spirit. Across the Bay, breweries and venues celebrate independent craft beer and its role in fostering friendships, encouraging collaboration, and as a source of creativity and self-expression. The week spans over 10 days, check out the site for a celebration near you.

"SF Wonder Women" Walking Tour by Montgomery St

Discover lady artists, scientists, revolutionaries, and generally impressive dames who have influenced San Francisco. “Wonder Women of SF” is a series of walking tours to honor the many women who have contributed to our city’s legacy. This edition strolls through North Beach and starts at Washington Square Park- a 20-minute walk from Montgomery St. The walk begins at 10am.

Rumba Party: Afro-Cuban Drums, Dances & Songs by Ashby

Come enjoy the Afro-Cuban folkloric drums, dances, and songs of rumba. Rumba is the word used for a group of related, community-oriented, music and dance styles in Cuba. This free event takes place on every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month. The fun runs from 3:30-6pm. Take BART to Ashby and walk five minutes to La Peña Cultural Center.

Heart of the City Farmers' Market by Civic Center/UN Plaza

Check out nearly 30 local farmers and artisan food vendors at the Heart of the City Farmers' Market in San Francisco's United Nations Plaza from 7am-5pm, rain or shine. With a wide selection of fresh local produce, farm products, bakery items, pastas, hummus and kettle corn, there's something for everyone. Take BART to Civic Center/UN Plaza and walk two minutes to the Plaza.
