"Beyond Therapy"

In Beyond Therapy, Prudence and Bruce are a couple of New Yorkers who seek professional help to fix their love lives. Their therapists encourage them to place personal ads, leading to a disastrously funny first date between the pair. As these two would-be romantics stumble toward a relationship with each other, it becomes increasingly clear that the therapists are actually more troubled than the patients. Written by Tony Award winner Christopher Durang, this outrageous adult comedy is filled with marvelously insane characters, screwball humor and Durang's trademark observations of contemporary American society. At just 90 minutes long, Beyond Therapy at the Shelton Theater in San Francisco is just what the doctor ordered: a zippy evening of non-stop laughter.
